Hi there,

This is a 1000+ page thread, can someone explain me the process of sponsoring a spouse. I need this information for my brother. he is a PR and is about to marry soon. The would be spouse is from New Delhi and does not have any Canadian Visa yet. I've read about inland and outland, what ar ethese, also, someone mentooned that the spouse cannot apply for open work permit from outside of Canada in order to get to Canada first and apply inland.

Can someone please give me a short summary of what options are and what the process looks like.

Thanks

Go to www.cic.gc.ca and search the options .

The process is simple. Let your brother get married first, gather lots of proof such as before marriage pics/emails/chats. Marriage pics and invitation letter. After marriage/honeymoon pics/chats/emails.
Then apply for OUTLAND PR application. After applying for Outland PR, wait for application to reach New Delhi and then apply for Visitor Visa to Canada to visit her husband.

Alternatively, she can apply for visitor visa BEFORE getting married and then apply for Outland PR after getting married.

INLAND PR WAIT IS 2 YEARS, NOT WORTH THE OPEN WORK PERMIT.

It takes 2-3 months after ADR to get update such as Re-med.
So sit tight.

hey congrats...what time did you get it?? you posted in the morning no updates today

Hey mike

I went to MP office today for another mp inquiry as my wife is still waiting for ppr after dm on june 13. MP's assistant called the immigration office right in front of me and asked about the ppr email and they said that they had already send an email asking for passport on june 09 which we never got. while confirming the email address we got to know that they send the ppr email to some wrong email. ( totally unprofessional)
the she confirmed mine and my wife's email again and requested the copy of ppr email to send again. they told me to wait for at least a week to receive the email, but mp office said that I should get the email in next 2-3 days possibly.

Hope for the best......
