PPR Received today at 1:30 am EST ;D ;D ;D

12th Feb 2016 applicant
NDVO
DM on 8th or 9th May 2016

This is God speed and we are extremely happy and joyful.

My wife is already in Canada on Visitor Visa and luckily they have given option of sending passport to Ottawa for stamping. Just dispatched her passport, 2 photos and the passport request letter along with an Xpressport envelope to Ottawa, should reach them by tomorrow.

Once we receive her stamped passport, can we go to a local office for her landing formalities or would need to go on a border crossing only?

If we have to go to the Niagara Falls border crossing, can I (Applicant's spouse who is already a PR) accompany my wife during the flag-poling process?

Anyone who has either got their landing formality done within a local office or flag-poling at the border, kindly share your experiences.

Cheers to everyone receiving DM and PPR :D

Hi, first of all, congratulations and can you send me the snapshot of your ECAs, hiding your details. It will be great help to otheres.

Your theory could be a possibility. Really don't know how they are working on the files. I did visit the MP office yesterday and the case officer working there was surprised herself to see the data I provided based on the spreadsheets here on this forum regarding 2015 and 2016 applicants. She said the last update they had received from the immigration department was that they are going to clear the backlog and then move to the new applicants and that the time frame is going to be reduced to 6 months. The new times (6 months) will be posted around the fall time because they would like to clear all the backlog files first and then post the new times but that is how long a standard straightforward case would take after that time period. Lucky them. But I was persistent in whether our files are even being considered as backlog because that is only a year back and if they are processing 2016 applicants so quick, ours are just going to be sitting like the 2013/14 files. She said they have increased the spousal sponsorship cap and are accepting more immigrants under that category and have also cleared a lot of the backlog. Apparently the backlog had 320,000 applicants that they have to clear. And after the mandate of the new government went out to decrease spousal sponsorship times and to clear the backlog, in the month of April alone they cleared around 100,000 applications. She assured me that all the 2015 applicants should be hearing soon as they are pushing through more files now. To clear the backlog and put into action the new mandate, they require funding which they received at the end of April apparently. So keep your hopes high guys! We will all hear pretty soon!! Also, she took photocopies of the data I provided based on the spreadsheets for 2015 and 2016 and said she is going to ask the immigration department to look into this and provide an explanation. So lets see what she comes back with. Don't know if she will really follow up with them or it was just a way to please and calm me down. But in the past she has been quite helpful, so lets hope we all get to hear some good news!

Hi Priya..

I am requesting you to please share data you have with all other PPL visiting MP office or mailing to VO, so that they can see the UNFAIR POLICIES and they can rectify it. So, applicant like us can have GOOD news soon.

Thank you in advance.
God bless...

My wife recently got her Passport back from Ottawa. They have given us two options : first to see immigration officer or cross the border. My wife was here on visitor visa in Canada and during that process she got her pr.

What would be the best option ?

If we choose to cross the border does she need to apply for visitor visa for US? Can somebody please share how long does it take to get Us visitor visa. She is from India and if anyone know the link to us visa pls share.

Thanks in Advance very much appreciated.

Congratulations! It's the same case with my wife. Just sent her passport for stamping to Ottawa today.

If you choose to do it at the border, you do NOT need a US Visa. You simply need to go to the border and tell them you're here for PR landing and want do "Flag poling". They will redirect you to a room there, where her PR landing formalities will be done.

The other option is going to a local CIC office in your city to do the landing. I am trying to gather more info about it, but I believe it should be explained in the literature you must've received along with COPR. you need to call a specific number and book an appointment for this.

Btw, how many days did it took to receive your Passport and COPR after sending it to Ottawa?

Cheers!

can someone add me to the whatsapp chat, please DM me and i will provide my TN

THANKS guys

and also the people who have done MP inquiry have you got anything positive back like anything from NDVO or has it helped your case

vik,

even i wanted to know how long it took to get the passport back from ottawa

also guys had a question my wife has to travel urgently to the US and will be coming back to canada within 2 weeks (currently here on visitor visa), she can submit the passport to ottawa once she is back right? As from the PPR mail it says within 30 days it should reach the delhi office, so it should not matter if it is NDVO or ottawa as long as it reaches within 30 days correct?

Thanks,

may 11th applicant its been a year today :'( haven't heared anything after remedical over 3 weeks now .... really disappointed

All JUNE applicants should be receiving some kind of update either Re-med or PPR this month. As we saw 4-5 applicants from June got Re-medicals from Monday to Wednesday. So have patience, re-medicals will be coming this month.
