But having the visa in hand, will the visa office still ask for re-medical once it has expired? Or will we have to get a re-medical done on our own, before departing India (have that proof in hand of a new medical exam). Thanks

Don't worry if your actual medical has expired. As long as you enter before the EXPIRY date on the PR Visa you are good.
They have the ability to extend initial medical upto 15 months. So one month over is not an issue.

Thank you so much for your help!
It's difficult to pack-up everything (job, etc) in less than a month, when PR visa is given less than a month before medical exam expiry

This update is for people who are waiting for interview letter:

Oct. 10, 2014 applicant received Interview letter today May 2nd (whatsapp group member). His interview is sometime in June 2016.

If we assume the pace of taking interviews remains same: Nov. 2014 applicants will receive letter in June 2016, Dec. 2014 in July 2016 and so on.

Congratulate to all who got DM and getting PPR. really happy for them. At least they are out of this painful process.
We are July Applicant. I spoke with the lady in MP office today. She said each case is different. May be there is nothing wrong in their application. I am surprised what is wrong in our application. (JUNE & JULY) she was so rude and said she can not argue with NDVO why not July and Why Nov is going. I can do just inquiry on your file. That is what I can do as You are still under processing time which is 17 months. Do not know what is going on. But its really painful.
Nov month has been started now but nothing for JUNE & JULY. I do not think MP office will do anything on our files. Last week I sent mail to our prime minister also and got reply from their office and they did CC to Immigration Minister too. Then I sent my query / request to John McCallum (Immigration Minister) too.
I think all JUNE & JULY or any applicant who are waiting even before that should write to Prime Minister and Immigration Minister.

MP inquiry is no magic wand that they can speed up or question NDVO's work culture. All they can do is inquire about your file and tell you what step it is at and what is the next step you will get.

Immigration minister usually wouldn't go and meddle in how NDVO handles internal files or which month they have picked up. All he cares about is the average processing time. I think Mccallum has already assigned new staff to NDVO which is why the Aug. Sept. Oct. Nov. files are going fast.

i really hoped for something... i am devastated....

I am another July applicant waiting to hear from NDVO. Below are my time lines.

We received ********'s application for permanent residence on July 15, 2015.
We started processing ********'s application on September 18, 2015.
Medical results have been received.

Waiting for update ??? ???

Try your spouse's details. Try both UCI and last names and access ECAS. One of yours should work.

If we get DM than would they ask for remedical ? Since my husbands medical is expiring next month.. But instead of remedical it says DM.. On his application.. Soo can they ask for it?

Most likely no, they don't ask for re-medical once they do DM on ECAS. DM is the last stage.

So what would be the next step

Your going to get passport request soon (could be couple of days after DM). He will receive passport request by email.
Our medical is expiring next month (June) too, and we got passport request recently.
