The delay could be because of all the holidays in December.
Were you tracking the passport? I mean, are you sure it reached CIC Chandigarh? If yes, maybe you should get in touch with them and enquire as to why it's taking so long. Let us know what they say.

Yes,
We are tracking the passport and it says application being processed at CIC Chandigarh, I already sent email and fax regarding that no replies, few of our friends applied TRV paper application 10 days before us they are also in the same boat saying still in processing, they are saying the delay is caused by the student visas.

HI there I just had a question. I got an email from New Delhi Immigration requiring for additional documents and they gave me a deadline which is by the 17 of February. I sent the documents on the 21 and they received it on the 24th of December they also signed it. Would you know when they check their mail? Or do they wait till my deadline then check the mail? Does anyone know how it works. One more thing I forgot to write "immigration section" under the address on the envelope. Is it OK? I did write my husbands file no. On everything so hopefully it's ok
Thanks

Hey People,

Need some guidance, I got an appointment with the local Federal MP here in Toronto.

Pl guide me
- What should I state there ?
- Document to carry ?
- Any proofs of Marriage or anything else ?

Fyi,
My Wife's passport is already with CIC since Dec 16 for the WP stamping (this generally take one weeks time however no update yet).
Do you think CIC is delaying the WP stamping to give the PR directly, she has already done her re-medicals on Dec 28

Appreciate your response.

Hey,

I am confused she has submitted for stamping for work permit and you are meeting the MP in regards to that or for the PR. If she has done the re-medicals for PR on the 28th of Dec then it usually take anywhere from 10 days to 3 months for PPR.

Why are you meeting the MP since you are in the processing period and you just got re-meds?

Can anyone tell which month applications are in process
In delhi office.

Yes, I have applied for the Spousal PR, got the re-medical request and submitted it on Dec 28.

Secondly, the company that she works for has also applied for the WP for a project here in Toronto,
WP,
Visa Approved - 15 Dec
Passport sent for stamping - 16 Dec
SLA - 20 days ( generally it takes 5 days)
I am not sure whether her WP stamping is getting delayed because of the PR application is in progress ?

I am meeting the MP in regards to her PR (I had read on the forums here and also from people around, that we can approach the MP for help)

A little background,
Our GCMS notes from NOV 11 - mentioned that nothing has been started. hence I had written to my area MP about our application.
For which I received reply from the MP's office in the last week of December stating that MP would like to meet me to address my concern. I accepted the invite, so I am meeting him tomorrow afternoon.

Hope I have given some clarity

Yeah I didn't make any changes in my passport either. One of the main reasons was that my passport had the stamps from a trip to the UAE a few years before I got married and I needed those to show my travel history. Moreover we thought that having the same name on all the documents, for eg birth certificate, educational documents, work documents, marriage certificate and passport is better. I am still using my maiden name as my official name and I intent to start using my husband's surname only after I get my PR.
Yes I think we are going to do the same.

We have decided not to get the name changes in any of the documents for the following reasons
1. Its a big hustle to get the name changed in the passport.
2. You should get the name changed in all possible document and so on.
3. If you are working and need to travel to different countries, you need to include the name change document in all the travel forms.

Why invite un necessary trouble -

I wasn't actually aware that you have to carry the name change document with you but good thing you told me.

Hello folks, the processing time for outland applications is back to 18 months which includes the 62 days long process of sponsor approval. I am guessing CIC just made a mistake stating it to be 26 months yesterday. I can honestly say, I have never been happier with a corrected typo! lol

yes, now it is 18 months.....
