Hey,

If you get a new passport then you will have update NDVO since they cannot issue the PPR on the old visa, so you will have to send a case specific inquiry doing the same - that will update everything on your file nor just one form. If you haven't changed the passport I really suggest you wait till you get your PR, land and change your passport since to me that makes cause the name change is not required and might only delay it. I am not saying it will for sure but any unnecessary update might.

Hi Draxz,
Thank u very much.

Hello,

My husband is a Canadian citizen, we have known each other for more than 2 years now.
I arrived in Canada 1 year back on student visa.
I got enagaged in May 2015.
I completed my course in Nov 2015.

We went back to India(my home country) and got married in Dec 2015.
Now we are back to Toronto.

We have to apply for my post graduate Open Work Permit and Spousal Sponsorship.

Should we apply for outland or inland spousal sponsorship?
If inland, should we also apply for spousal open workpermit along with inland application as we also be applying for PGWP?

My PGWP should be of 1 year.

Thanks in Advance.

Inland will take 3 years and i cannot leave the country meantime right?
What we were thinking is to get 1 year of PGWP and apply for outland from ND visa office, and hopefully it gets processed in 12 months time frame.

Please let us know if this approach is feasible.

To my knowledge , In land / outland is not optional . If you are in canada , you have to apply only as inland . Please cross check

@ wanted, canadavisa2116 and canadavisa2116: An application can apply in-land or outland while in Canada but the applicant can only apply outland while outside of Canada. Please do NOT apply in-land, yes there is a dangling carrot of the work permit for the applicant but the processing isconsiderably longer - 26 months or more; more over though not official its generally accepted the applicant should not leave the country since a denial of entry means the application is automatically rejected. As you are aware most NVDO cases take 10-12 average which is much quicker. To me it doesnt make sense to apply inland since you already qualify the PGWP you can apply for that and submit an outland application and wait out the processing time here.

As far as I am aware you cannot apply for PGWP and an open work permit which is submitted along with an in-land application.

Applying for GCMS notes always helping if there is delay than normal. I remembered i had applied my GCMS notes for more than 10 times through GCMSNotes.ca and they provide the tracking number as well. each time I applied for GCMS notes I got some new information. The most surprising was when I saw that my file was not traceable and it delayed my case for more than 9 months until I remind CIC about the file information I had got from my GCMS notes.

Not sure if you are promoting this or just posting the information but this is not the official government website; All gov. websites end with gc.ca and the correct link to apply for the notes is http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

GCMSNotes.ca is a third party who charges $40 USD while applying for official notes is $5
