Don't worry. Apply for PR as a priority.
I am currently in Canada on a TRV, similar situation as yours. Did not have any issues crossing the border. Be completely honest with the visa officer. Tell them you are visiting your wife and have applied for PR. They cannot stop you when you already have a visa, but don't say or do anything that may look suspicious to them.

Good luck

Agree entirely. We got married on 14 Feb and my wife traveled with me on TRV on 1 March. There was no issue at Toronto airport and my wife was truthful. Since she has already been here for over 6 months, she applied for visitor extension and got it until April 2016, hopefully she will have her PR by then.

Hello Supreet,

It is Passport request letter after NDVO make decision on your file. So if you are planning to apply for visitor visa and During your stay in canada if you received passport request then you will receive this letter through email. In that letter they mention that if you are already in canada then submit your passport to ottawa with this letter. So you don't have to go back to india. I already applied visitor visa for my wife and waiting for decision. If she will get it then she will come here in January and will stay up to 6 months. I am hoping that within those 6 months she will get her passport request if not then will extend her visitor visa.

Let me know if this information helpful for you.

Regards,
Vishal

Thanks vishal

Fingers crossed...applying trv through papers in cming week.

Once again thanks for info.

Usually it takes 30 days. But sometimes you won't get AOR1 (like me) and get directly Sponsorship Approval (SA) through email or regular post after 60 days of your application being received.

Ur 2014 applicant or 2015?

Hello Everyone,

I was just wanting to confirm with all of you, if I can declare my engagement while filing for my spouse's PR. I landed on June 1st, 2015 and got engaged prior to that in January 2015, would be safe to declare my engagement as when I landed I signed and declared that I am not married. Does this mean I cannot be engaged or cannot declare my engagement?

Also, if someone has a similar case like mine and also if its an arrange marriage what all documents did you submit to prove your relationship is genuine? Could you kindly share the list of documents with me?

Lastly, what's the current processing time for Outland sponsorship New Delhi?

Your advice will be very much appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help

Hello all

I am a newbie here and have 2 questions:

What is the current processing time at NDVO for spousal/Family class visa: Have any 2015 applicants received call from NDVO for interviews / submission of passport yet?

While the family class visa is being processed, Can I invite my wife over to Canada on a tourist visa for some time? Will the TRV application impede the spousal visa in any way?

Here are my application details:

Application Filed: May 2015
Sponsorship approval AOR1: Jun 2015
File transfer AOR 2: Aug 10, 2015
Medical received
Interview: Waiting
Visa: waiting
Landing: Waiting

I am March 2015 applicant. I have few queries.
I am on a visit visa(multiple entry) in Canada, which is going to expire next month.
Since, there is no hope of hearing back from NDVO anytime sooner, I am planning to apply for visa extension.
So, below are my two queries and would be happy to get some advice.

- My medicals will expire in January 2016 (This was done upfront for PR application). So, do i need to re-do the medicals before I apply for an extension now.

- Since i would be staying for more than 6 months in Canada now, do i need to update my PR application with a PCC from Canada.
