Hello,

I have recently received my acceptance letter for my sponsorship application. I am a Canadian citizen and my wife is a citizen of India where she also resides. My concern is that we were expecting the permanent residence application to be sent to New Delhi India however they sent it to the London UK office. Does any one know why they would do that? Is this random or due to back log?

This is what they sent me:

"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in London for further processing.
This visa office was selected based on your relative’s home address and the requirements of the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act."

I meant the main family class sponsorship - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/family-class-sponsorship-b5.0/
click on new topic on the middle left of your screen.

I would say the answer is we cant really know for sure why London was chosen, has your spouse ever lived outside the country or is a resident of another country?

Hello,

No. She has never left India. She has always resides in Lucknow.

I will create a new thread and see if anyone can answer. I will try contacting CIC as well and see if they can elaborate on this. It is longer wait time from London (max. 28 months) than New Delhi (max. 17 months).

Thanks

You can most certainly ask the CIC - keep us posted on the response. Yes London has longer wait times since they are also processing files from other countries but I think local files are getting processed quickly.

Hello Punjabi kudi ,

1.Have you heard anything from CIC NDVO ,regarding your AOR 2 ?

2. Has you application status changed in ECAS ?

Hey Toughguy
its really tough question :P :P :D I don't really know its new trend or we are just lucky :P :P :P :P ;D ;D because most of June applicant got IP when file transferred to visa offices. so, I guess they are just following this new trend.
So its not actual IP which it used to be. :-\ :-\

After looking your post I checked my ecas and they added an extra line for me as well which were not there until Friday. they have started processing application on sep12/2105.

Hey Guys, I am on the same boat! My status just got updated to "Started processing your application". Let's hope for the best.

Just was reading through the thread and noticed quite a few applicants are IP after receiving AOR2. I received our AOR2 back in April but it's currently under "application received". Should I be worried???

Is it really taking 17 months for processing the file at New Delhi??
