If you get married before you land as a PR, you must inform CIC of the change in ur status. You must submit new forms and include ur wife in ur application. If you fail to do so and land without informing cic (after marriage ), you will never be able to sponsor your wife.

You will have to do police checks and medicals for your wife and the processing will take few additional months but you are much better off in the long run doing it this way.
Otherwise you have to marry after you land as PR and sponsor her via Spousal Sponsorship. Trust me you never want to do that. It takes a really long time and you have to prove the genuineness of your relationship. And your wife most probably will be denied visitors visa ( TRV ) and you have to live apart till she gets PR. This is a frustrating process. Most of us are going thru this.

You have a choice. Make a wise decision. If your marriage date is all set, send a mail to cic informing in detail about everything they will guide you on the next steps. Keep in mind ur PR visa expiry date and if its in the near future you should check with CIC if they will give u new one.

Just curious if its different for PNP category. Both your RPRF request email and passport request email must have contained the below statement ???

Do you intend to get married or divorced prior to becoming a permanent resident?

so the next steps would be passport stamp ?

Next update will be "In Process" and then depending on expiry of medical - remed request
then Decision made and Passport Request for Visa stamp.

That was a bit longer than others that I have recently seen for Jan/Feb applicants. So almost 3 months for you to get your AOR and another month to get SA. Hopefully thinsg speed up now. I am April 2015 applicant.
