Hi Vizzynuts, when did you send out, or actually submit your application? I sent mine out on Thursday, June 18th, and haven't received anything as of yet.

Thanks,

Hi dysan,

I had sent the application in June 18, or there abouts. I only received this email on July 22, 2015.

hey guys...i submitted the application for my wife on May 21, got notification from CIC that they started processing my application for Sponsor Approval on June 23 and on July 14, the status was updated to decision made. On July 20, I got an email from CIC saying i was approved as a sponsor and they have forwarded my wife's application to NDVO.

Question I have is, will I be getting any notification from NDVO that they have received my wife's application from CIC office in Vancouver? If so, how long does it usually take for them to send that notification after SA ? Also, is there a different file number that get's assigned by NDVO to the application or is it the same one that CIC gave me at the beginning? The reason why I'm asking is because I plan on applying for Tourist Visa for my wife as there is quite a bit of backlog at NDVO and I want to mention the file number(s) in the Tourist Visa application as well.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Some people (like me) don't receive the AOR1 and go directly to SA.
So have patience.

Yes, the file number will remain the same. SA and AOR2 will have the same file number. But your wife will get her own UCI #.
You as a sponsor will not receive any notification from NDVO. Your wife in india will receive a AOR2 either in email (right away) or by regular post (which takes 2 weeks to arrive after NDVO receives your file).
Some people never got an AOR2 (may be it got lost in post).
Check if they have the right address of your wife. Go to ECAS. Use the File Number and your wife's last name/birth date/country.

Thanks! One more question. How long does it usually take for NDVO to get the file from CIC after SA AOR?

Usually it takes 1 week to 1.5 weeks. But I have heard it can take 2-3 weeks.

My spousal application sent on: April 7 along with Upfront medical and Police certificates
Acknowledge from Mississauga: May 28
Acknowledge from NDVO : June 12(Asked to provide Police Clearance and Landing Fee if not already provided)

till July 28- ECS status still the same. Application received. Medical results received. No call for Passport. hoping to hear soon. the only change which I noticed is that since last week instead of my Canadian lawyer address, it is showing my home Indian address in the address box.

I sent application to Mississauga for my spouse (wife) from India on 20 April 2015
Got AOR 23 June 2015.
Got SA 20 july 2015

Today i got email from deli immi. They are requesting for following documents. but i already send these documents with my application. So, should i send these documents again OR don't need to send it??

1) Proof of payment of your Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) to our office in Mississauga or by your sponsor in Canada, if not already paid.
· 2) Submission of police clearance certificates for you and all dependent family members who are 18 years or older, for time spent in any country for a period of 6 months or more, if not already submitted.

Guys,

Hope you are doing well.

I got my COPR and Visa 2 weeks ago.

I want to get married to my GF. I dont want to get married now as they will cancell my visa and i have to apply for her as a depedent visa and all things. I dont want to take the risk.

So i am planning to do landing and get the pr and come back and get married to her.

what are the options i have please recommend as i have no clue about it.

Hey, I had the same situation. I landed in Canada, went back and got married. I applied for my wife's PR and is waiting since Nov 2014. I had applied for TRV twice only to get rejected.
However, I heard from someone that I could have got married without landing and get the COPR papers for my wife also by sending in the required docs to NVDO along with my passport. I think you should try to call NVDO or some immigration representative and get confirmed. I asked an agency before taking the decision. But it seems they gave me the wrong info.
Please check with NVDO or some good representative and take the decision.
Just to share my experience hoping it may be useful for both of you.

I am a PR in Canada and received my PR on Nov-2015 (before I was here on study-permit). I got married within a month of getting PR card (received my PR card on mid Jan and got married on Mid Feb). We filed sponsorship and PR application on March 2015 and received PR on June 2015 (She if from Nepal, visa office is NDVO, and her application was under fast-track processing, as per CIC's response to Nepal's earthquake).

So there is no harm to do landing and then get married.

FYI:
  • I was in touch with my wife, then a potential wife :), way before I received my PR. In fact before receiving Medical request, which is kind of PR acceptance for skilled worker class, with some expectations.
  • Ours is an arrange marriage, arranged by my our family members. We were in touch for almost 6 months before getting married (all on-line). I met her on Airport for the first time, on the way to Nepal for wedding
  • She applied her TRV from London VO, UK. She came to Canada with me after our wedding and stayed here for 15 days before returning to London, UK to complete her studies. She came here on June-2015 and submitted her passport at Ottawa for PR visa and completed her landing at Niagara Falls.
