I just got a letter by Canada Post from the high commission , New Delhi.

It says we have received your app for PR. Here is file number. Pay your fees/ your police certificate if not already done. Both of these were done upfront.

The letter is addressed in my wife's name, to my Canadian home address .

Not sure why they sent the acknowledgement letter to Canada, I was expecting an email to my wife. I guess its because I am the authorized representative.

Great! That's your AOR2 then. Hopefully it has your wife's UCI number.
Check the date on which the letter was typed. Also check the date on the envelope on which the letter was dispatched. That'll give you an idea about how much time it took for the letter to reach you.
It would be best to ensure that future correspondence from NDVO happens through emails because some of their requests are time-bound, eg you get 30 days time to submit your passport after passport request. Letters have a chance of getting delayed or misplaced on the way so emails are much safer.

I think you should visit the following page and send a general enquiry first and if you don't receive a response within 2 weeks then you can go for a case specific enquiry. I've read that NDVO doesn't confirm if they've updated your changes or not but they should respond to a general enquiry.

Please note that this is how I think it should be done. I'm not 100% sure though.

You'll have to search the CIC website for a call centre phone number on which only people living in Canada can call and hopefully they'll be able to tell you how to go about this for sure.

You have a lot of time before you'll hear anything else from NDVO so don't worry even if you hit a few roadblocks.

Visitor visa rejection will not have any affect but I'm sorry to say that student visa rejection might raise some concerns. No one can say for sure though. You'll just have to wait and watch. Good luck

n Yea im a silent follower of this thread from long time.. n I do know about Proforme, Supreet Dolly, Priya K. Preet Gill, Mikee etc etc... You seems like family to me now... I knw its kinda silly as its my second post only... But i share my feelings just like all of you who are waiting to get reunited with their loved ones... Hope Waheguru ji will listen us ASAP ;D ;D ;D
