Not sure why they sent the acknowledgement letter to Canada, I was expecting an email to my wife. I guess its because I am the authorized representative.
Check the date on which the letter was typed. Also check the date on the envelope on which the letter was dispatched. That'll give you an idea about how much time it took for the letter to reach you.
It would be best to ensure that future correspondence from NDVO happens through emails because some of their requests are time-bound, eg you get 30 days time to submit your passport after passport request. Letters have a chance of getting delayed or misplaced on the way so emails are much safer.
