first thing i would like to congratulate you for your visa. I would like to know whats the validity on the visa i mean how long the visa is valid for? Any binding on when to travel as in my case i would have to resign from my current job and serve notice period for probably 2 months.

Till ur medicals are valid or Passport validity (not expired at that point of time ) which ever is the earliest

on the website 25th dec, 28th dec and 1st jan are given as holidays....so hopefully they will be working on rest of the days........

Dont expect between 2 days ..They got a long holidays 25dec-1 jan (although informal)

we applied on 4th march, my med expires on 12th feb........ what is ur timeline..........

Hi, In my case notice period was 3 months, you can discuss with your HR and they can release you early. My HR released me in 15 days although I got 3 months landing time.

Hey everybody!

My husband received his visa this morning!!!!!!!
This forum has been so useful throughout the whole process- thank you to everybody Smiley Smiley Smiley - here's wishing that everyone receives their visas super fast.

A few details about our file:
Applied: 9 Feb 2015
in process: 9 oct 2015
medicals expring on 16 Jan 2016.

We received a call on 16 Dec from NDVO asking if my husband could travel before 16 Jan.
He obviously said yes Smiley we've been patiently and anxiously waiting....
the person who called sent us an email immediately after, which said we need to go to the embassy the next day and get our visa stamped at on the same day(this procedure was new to us)

So this morning my husband received his visa and landing papers.

We had applied for gcms notes on 6Nov and received them on 6Dec (they said nothing had started not even eligibility)
we were very dissappointed to see that - but this shows that since GCMS notes are a month old, anything can happen!

Our online status still says IN PROCESS.

They also told my husband at the embassy that since our file was so straightforward and we provided all the proof necessary and we organised it so well they didnt see any reason to not give it so quickly. Smiley Smiley Smiley

we both are sooooooo happy at the moment.
I will continue to pray that everyone's files are processed fast.

There wud be lesser staff on work during this christmas tym..so files can't move fast......
Most of them wud be on holiday...so god bless all.....
Hopefully new DMs and PPRs will be issued in early jan 2016.
