I had an mp enquiry 2 weeks back and yesterday i got a reply that they are waiting for background checks to be complete...I got in process on aug22 and remedical on Aug 25...any idea guys how long it takes to complete background checks...I have no travel history...

Normally it takes upto 3 weeks time to get BGC done....hope you get PPR soon

I am in same situation...Got in process August 6 nd remeds on August 25. But it's been more than 2 months... How long will they take for background checks ??

I ve already ordered notes twice before in process but it was totally wrong timing we did. notes was perfectly on track...text was fine. after getting re-meds i was confident that interview has been waived. Mp enquiry probably after some 30 days. did they say in Mp enquiry how long will it take for background check to complete regarding ur file??

no they just said processing time is 17 months so it can be anytime

Looking at Arun's post. NDVO seems to be conducting background checks on nov applicants.

NDVO still working on August/September 2014 Applicant's eligibility and background checks. Only One October 2014 applicant got DM.
I am November 26, 2014 applicant. I have more than 6 month Canada clean travel history. NDVO will take 3-4 months more to process & check background / foreign travel history for November end/ December 2014 applicants.. may be in coming Jan/Feb 2016.

Same story, similar timeline. No update yet. Ordered notes : background and criminality check not started yet. Eligibility passed and interview waived. Let's just hope to see some good news sooner. Keeping fingers crossed !!

Hi, can someone kindly update our info in spreadsheet "Inprocess" since AUG 24. Medicals expired Aug 18, 2014, no remed req yet. Done with waiting :-X, applying for Visa tomorrow, booking tickets to travel by November 1st week, MP enq(meeting) scheduled before next weekend! Not $h1+ happening from NDVO side !!!!

I am not clear on the next steps but here is our timeline

We received your application for permanent residence on April 22, 2015.
We started processing your application on June 26, 2015.
Medical results have been received.


What should we expect at this point for next steps ? I am guessing the overall process is taking more than a year now so we should expect it to complete (barring no issues) around mid-2016 right ?
