Hi all,
My wife will be going to Mumbai VFS office to drop off her passport.
How long does it takes usually for passport to be return back to us with visa?
I will be present in this forum longggg time in future. I know the pain and all that long wait.

PPR receivedd!!!

For the people whose status is still In Process, Do not worry since its no big deal. I received my PPR with IN process status. My status changed few hours later of the email received.

Im not quite sure about the DM and IP date.. I checked the status only once I received the PPR ..

I am already in Canada.. HAd come on student visa after applying for PR from India.. HOwever , It seems I can submit my passport here in Canada.. Rather than sending it all the way to NEw delhi ..

nope i did nothing.. nothing at all...
rather now i am thinking if I should do that or not..
even went to my MP here in Calgary NE, his assistant simply asked me to come back early next year as we are just 'HALF WAY' the process..

anybody met with a MP here in Calgary??

on ECAS on the details page, it would say when they started processing your file? and when the decision was made perhaps in the details...

Yes, there is an option to submit passport to Ottawa i think, not sure you need to check it with CIC and confirm.

MP's are useless. GCMS is recommended to know the status of the application but it takes one month. I've applied on 15 sept, so expecting it to come on 15 oct.

Based on my reading, once applicant is marked for IN PROCESS, interview is waived. So dont worry...

Our files have to pass 5-6 different categories, namely the document complete/checks, marriage genuinely, medical, security, criminality and eligibility. so when the first three are passed, ecas says IN PROCESS. Interview is usually for checking genuine marriage...

I didn't read 2013 forum in depth to come to an understanding as to when applications are flagged down for an interview?

Does it happen before an application goes into the status of "In-Process" or can it also happen post "In-Process" status? Which would also explain why some applications are stuck in "In-Process" for over a month or so?

Side note, Kan_Sri any updates on your side? Any change in the status of your application?

All who are planning to go to VFS location---they are closed this thursday and friday ..ie. Oct 2 and 3 for public holidays.
