MP = Member of Parliment. Depending on where you live, you can find out who your MP is by your postal code. here is the link to find who they are:

Once you find your MP, write them a nice email telling them your situation (explain about the DM since date). They will email you requesting the detail about your file and then will inquiry. They will probably get a auto reply back about your inquiry. this is what i got:
"This refers to your enquiry received at the visa office in New Delhi.
Please be advised that further instructions will soon be forwarded to the applicant. Until then, she is requested to await our contact.
