Hey everybody!

My husband received his visa this morning!!!!!!!
This forum has been so useful throughout the whole process- thank you to everybody :) :) :) - here's wishing that everyone receives their visas super fast.

A few details about our file:
Applied: 9 Feb 2015
in process: 9 oct 2015
medicals expring on 16 Jan 2016.

We received a call on 16 Dec from NDVO asking if my husband could travel before 16 Jan.
He obviously said yes :) we've been patiently and anxiously waiting....
the person who called sent us an email immediately after, which said we need to go to the embassy the next day and get our visa stamped at on the same day(this procedure was new to us)

So this morning my husband received his visa and landing papers.

We had applied for gcms notes on 6Nov and received them on 6Dec (they said nothing had started not even eligibility)
we were very dissappointed to see that - but this shows that since GCMS notes are a month old, anything can happen!

Our online status still says IN PROCESS.

They also told my husband at the embassy that since our file was so straightforward and we provided all the proof necessary and we organised it so well they didnt see any reason to not give it so quickly. :) :) :)

we both are sooooooo happy at the moment.
I will continue to pray that everyone's files are processed fast.
Happy holidays everyone!

Hi would u plz share what are the last 4 digits of the num ur husband recieved the call and around what timings. So that i can have an idea and ask my husband to keep an eye.plz

Was Feb 6 2015 the date the file was received in Delhi? Typically the due date is one year from then.

No, April 4th is the date delhi received. Feb 6 2015 due date is on GCMS notes.

This means that you have to wait for the interview. So its going to be long ride, unless any miracle happens. Hold tight and stay positive.

Finally some good news on our front!!

Some of you are aware of whats happened, but I'll re-tell the story.

Our file has been IP since August 12th. On Sept 15th, my wife (in Canada on a TRV) got a call from NDVO asking if she is still in Canada, and they told her that she might get an email for re-medical. We had no communication from them since. In October, I applied for our notes for the second time, and I got them on Oct 29th.

The re-medical request had been sent on Sept 18th, but we never got it. My wife and I both check our email daily, including the SPAM folder. I went back through our emails, and we definitely never got it. Ever since then I have been going back and forth with our MP's office, and desperately trying to get ahold of NDVO.

FINALLY, last night, NDVO called me on my cell phone. The gentleman who called said he was re-sending the paperwork, but my wife would have to do full medical again, because it had been more than 3 months. An hour later, we both received the e-mail with the medical request. We have to wait now about a week for an appointment, as the panel doctors are a bit busy. But at least we've got some progress. The person who called wouldn't give me a specific timeline, but he basically implied that our medical was the only thing remaining. He said once we receive the medical report, the file will be finalized.

Once the medical exam is done, how long can we expect them to take for DM/PPR? Two weeks, maybe three? A month, max? (Opening up the spreadsheet now to check previous files, lol)

My wife is flying to India in February, so I'm hoping the PPR comes before then, so we can just send the passport to Ottawa. We may not have enough time though. They need the passport within 30 days of PPR, correct?

I don't want to be stuck between sending the passport to Ottawa (and not having enough time for it to come back in time for her trip), or sending the passport to Delhi after she goes to India, but then they might receive it too late.

Hi Raz3,

Let us know what's type of comments the visa officer put on the last couple of pages, to let us know what their concerns are.

Hi YYC787,

That's good news! Yes, it might around a few weeks to 3 + months from in process to decision made but in your case it might take a few day or few weeks since it's already in it's final stages but the question is when the next time they will take another look at your file. Yes, they need the passport for stamping within 30 days of passport request. It would be best to do a full medical as soon as you can in Canada. Once she makes it to India, send her passport to a visa office for finalization because there might be a chance that it will be too late.
