Hi,

I'm a new member on this forum and would like to share my timeline. Request the concerned person to please include the details on the spreadsheet. I had initially sent my info sometime in April, however it has not been included in the spreadsheet.

Application status online- APPLICATION RECEIVED / MEDICALS RECEIVED
Medicals completed upfront on 17th July 2014.

Application received (CIC) 6th October 2014.
Sponsor approval granted on 14th November 2014
AOR2 / File transferred to Delhi on 27th November 2014
Landing Fees and PCC submitted on 26th December 2014

Also, I had applied for the GCMS notes in April and I've received them recently... Application status is OPEN & IN PROGRESS, however Eligibility, Criminality & Security have not been started. I've passed the medicals since i had submitted the same upfront.

Can someone let me know whats the difference between In-progress and in-process? Or are they the same thing?
Also, have any October 2014 applicants received any update from NDVO?

thank u soo much for your prompt reply as always...since my husband is a canadian citizen, v have applied for cannadian citizenship certificate.. we have sent it thrice till now n they sent it back asking for doccuments which was alrdy there..just sent it again last week... since it takes along time, i wantd to knw if they would provide my baby a visitor visa after i get my PR..
does any 1 knw how long it takes to give citiznsp certi to a child..

Hi,

After applying for citizenship certificate, if there is a need of travel then you can apply for Canadian passport for the child even before the citizenship certificate arrives. Just show them a travel itenary along with all the other required documents. They'll issue a Canadian passport within 20 working days. I believe you might need to get an Indian Visa or Registration at the nearest Indian Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO). I think you need to register the child with in a couple of days/weeks after getting the new Canadian passport. Contact the nearest FRRO office to get more information on that. Otherwise the immigration officers at the Indian airport might harass you when you leave India with your Canadian baby.

Hopefully you have a speedy process.

P.S. I was recently in India with my wife and we had applied for a Canadian Passport for our child and traveled. Hopefully you benefit from this. Now I am back in Canada and waiting for my wife's immigration process to complete.

I'm July 23rd applicant, I got an an email from NVDO yesterday and asked to do medical reassessment. Wondering my medical was going to expire on June 8th.. and I got in process too. wondering what next and how long does it take more.

in my case it says interview recommended ..last when they worked on my file in NOV 2014
Since then i thinks sitting on their ***** . everyday i have some fight at work and constantly with hubby due this frustration and family and neighbours dont make it easy for you do they ? kab ja rahe ho itni der to nahin lagti ...
as if you are paying my bills eh :'(

No, I didnt apply for notes again. The first ones said Interview Required in the written paragraph (i think second last page) and Interview Recommended under the Eligibility section.

I checked with MP first before ordering notes. The MP said its in queue for interview but they did not schedule a date yet. If I dont hear from them in one month then come contact us again. But I never went after that.....all they give is bad news. I dont really want to do see the MP again.

I understand your pain....my wife in India is going through the same thing and I am getting a taste of something similar here in Canada from ppl all around. No one can do anything but wait....I guess. I am just hanging in tight. Though, there are times and moments where I completely fcuking lose my mind at this non-transparent process these people have but ahh well...May God Bless Everyone.

Don't worry you're not the only one. I'm in the same situation they still haven't received my medical since February. I think they have record but didn't update ECAS.
