hi veb.. i think there are chances... spouse has to visit each other that shows that they r genuine couple..just make sure bank statements are good and she will be going back after vacation ..i am getting my papers ready for spouse and i want her to apply.. as i just got back from india in april..and i have a full time job so its not possible for me to go vacation on and off...dont loose hope and this wont effect sponsorhip process... why would it effect?..infact in the immigration forms it says have u tried to visit your sponsor? and if no when why??
By any chance it is not going to affect PR Process as CIC allows dual intent.U can search on that.It does not affect the processing and if u are lucky u may get TRV Approved.I strongly recommend everyone to try at least, may be u get it approved as i got..Best of Luck !!

Hi Guys need suggestion!

My spouse had applied for TRV previously but rejected twice. now as my sponsorship has been approved.
Should i apply for my spouse TRV?
Is there any effect of TRV rejection on PR processing?

your reply would be highly appreciated.

veb

I may be one in a hundred who got TRV accepted while PR is in Process :)( My application filed date is 27th March 2014) but the main thing is that CIC allows dual intent. If TRV is rejected before u applied for PR then it might affect PR Processing ( there i one column in a form for PR in which they ask if u have been denied visa ever) as they may ask the reason for the same but if u apply for TRV after Spousal application and in worst case it gets rejected then also it is not going to affect the application anyways.
I think u should apply for ur wife's TRV. Just make sure that u show CIC enough reasons that she is going to return India after certain time. As i mentioned already that me and my husband did a lot of homework for that( applying for TRV was no less tedious then applying for PR), try to find the reasons and show as much proof as u can which u can show her connection to India.Leave letter from job, Property Papers(though i did not shows this), Travel history helps a lot..Work for it as u did for PR and apply. May be u become lucky this time !! Instead of missing each other everyday and fighting over the fone :p working for TRV may prove to be more fruitful to you. All the best :)

Almost all applicants of October 2013 who had a straight forward case, have had decision made in the past week or so. Going by the lightning pace at which CIC New Delhi have been clearing applications, November-December would be done by second week of September. I don't expect 2014 to start anytime before 2nd week of September 2014, which means, brunt of the 2013 strike load will be taken by 2013 end and 2014 applicants.

Hi Omega,

I am also a march applicant. I had applied for a TRV earlier this month, but it came back as rejected with reasons that i can only say are bogus. I gave them my employment letter, leave letter and bank statement showing ~5000 dollars. But inspite of all these they rejected with "not able to satisfy me (the officer) that you would be leaving the country after your temporary visit". I dont have any travel history, so this reason could be valid-though i dont understand why this is so important as there is always the first time for everyone.

I have not reapplied because i am paranoid about the implications on my PR application if i am refused the visa again. Do you think that ishould reapply? Are you sure that visa refusal prior to PR application affects the process but not after? If i reapply then what should i do differently this time?

Thanks

Have u applied for your TRV of ur Wife/Husband?? I mean, Who is there in India?? U need to show the supporting docs for the person who is in India.I am pretty sure that refusal after PR Application is filed does not affect PR Process..U can google it if u want. You can definitely go for it again. I can not assure u that it is going to be approved this time as it all depends on Via officer's mood..But i think proper documentation helps a lot..We were very clean on our documentation part and our presentation of the file was very simple and clear.. We did as much as we can to show that i willl be back to India.i had Travel History but no property papers. We did show my bank statements for 6 months with a handsome amount..But i think we were very strong on the presentation part..Try to give a suitable/strong reason for why ur spouse wants to visit Canada. Try to mention everything in Points when it comes to showing the documents..Prepare an nicely formatted file and apply..Rest is all depends on luck and visa officer's mood But at least u will be satisfied that u did ur part and that too with ur 100%..Give it a try..All the best !!! :)

Hi Omega,

Thanks for your reply. I am the wife applying from india. Maybe the dollar amout confused you. I showed them 3 lacs rupees. Is that enough?

I will definetly work on the presentation this time. I've heard that applying through a travel agent improves the chances. Is their any truth to this?

Thanks

Here is my penny for the conversation. I too did everything as said below, employment letter, leave letter, invitation letter from my spouse, and two others. bank balance etc. I have plenty of travel history. US, UK, 3 times visit to Canada. I was denied for the same reason. i applied for TRV before my PR application too.

I choose not to reapply for TRV because being a march applicant, you can get PPR anywhere in the next couple of months - if lucky can expect DMs and visas by then too.

having got rejected TRV, i visited 5 more countries in the next 4 months for work and vacation!! Not sure travel history plays a role. However, if you are working somewhere and you have a conference or a exhibition in Canada which you can attend, you can try applying trv with the inivation letter from the conference.

Seniors can correct me, but getting denied as "Potential Immigrat" should not affect Permanant Resident application - bcos they are agreeing that you are a potential immigrat and hence allowed to apply for PR. A word of caution, dont give them any other cause like misrepresentation etc, that would be a serious issue.

Good Luck Guys!

I agree with Kan sri that u should be clear on everything when it comes to CIC. do not give any false information..But i think its always better to apply for TRV after u have applied for PR as there as more chances of getting it approved instead of applying it before and then applying for PR. My Husband consulted an immigration lawyer in Canada and he suggested the same while we were in process of applying TRV. He told us to wait till the file gets transferred to NVDO the then apply for TRV nd we did the same. There should be a proper reason on why one wants to visit Canada. I dnt know the amount which one shoud show in Account but we showed more than 5 Laks and that too for constantly 6 months( If CIC sees that a major amt has been transferred to account in recent days, it assumes that it has been done for Visa purpose)..As far as travel agent is concerned m sure that it is not true..They are of no use if u are able to handle ur file properly..but yes, they will give u proper list of docs which u shoud attach as a proof for why u wud return back to india..Along with their list u can add ur own list..I had applied through an agent only though..Again i wiil say that doing all this can not assure u TRV but u will be happy that u tried :)

Going by the current trend you can expect it sometime between March - April 2015.

PS: CIC loves family re-unions.
