Hi Dear, I've followed this forum for more than 8 months now but I never need to create my profile, just created here for you as you are stuck in same situation as I did last year. I was away for 3.5 years since I got PR and I came here searched for job and applied for spousal sponsorship. I have been asked for latest assesment. Below was my response12ja said:actually I am out of country from 2011 to jan 2014
CRA said they provided me only 2010 notice of assessment.
because I paid tax of 2011-2012-2013 in april 2014
so it take long time to get lastest assessment.
is there any other alternate for that?

Sub: Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class (Client ID – 1111-1111)
Resp Sir/Madam,
I have submitted application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class. Which was returned back to me for the incomplete application reason below :
• You must submit Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency for the most recent year or the “Option C printout”
I would like to bring to your kind consideration that, I came to Canada on DD-Month-Year to perform my PR landing formalities and went back to native country (India) in a single day i.e DD-Month-Year. I had not earned any income here and had not established any residential ties with Canada during that 1 day stay. I came back to Canada on DD-Month-Year and recently started working for XXXXXX as a permanent employee.
As per Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), I was not in the country since I got my PR status in XXXX-Date and therefore as per CRA I am a Non-Resident Canadian for Tax purpose for that period and I cannot file my tax returns for the past year 2009-2012 as CRA will not accept the returns and will not provide any “Notice of Assessment” for my zero income in Canada between 2009-2012. Rather I was filing my Income tax return in India every year since I was working there.
I have consulted below three different sources to verify eligibility to file my Tax Returns in Canada from 2009-2012, but each of them stated that Non Resident Canadian for tax purpose (as per CRA) cannot file Tax returns.
1. Canada Revenue Agency helpline – 1800-959-8281
2. Canada Revenue Agency website to find tax filing eligibility (Provide links)
3. Hired/Consulted independent Charted Accountant
I am herewith attaching my Job Offer Letter from EMPLOYER_NAME where I am working, which mentions my Base Salary - $XXXX and Bonus - $XXXX, to meet financial needs of my family (spouse).
Best Regards
