Hey guys,

Just to tell you something that it does not matter if you go to visit your spouse. You don't need to tell NDVO that you are coming to visit just be care full that you can stay only for certain time as I also recently went to visit my spouse. The time is 3 to 4 weeks if you are a PR and no time limit if you are a Canadian Citizen.

hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing this. Where did you get this info from? Please share

you are right...my lawyer and cIC said no rules say you cannot stay longer than 6 months...no need to tell NDVO if you don't have a job; became bankrupt; somebody died etc...only things that are required are change of address and if sponsor wants to withdraw application or divorced; and telephone number changes...other than that no need to inform anyone...
Thank you for confirming this. I am of the same opinion as you.

Some members in forum said that we have to inform CIC that we travelled to India. But when I went in November I called CIC and they said we don't have to inform them regarding our visit. We have to inform them only if there are major changes like change in address or some thing like that.

Even though I got laid off twice, CIC said that I don't have to inform them about this changes !

Hi Sicilian85

Recently i moved to a different address , but my wife in India is still at the same address , Do i need to call NDVO ? of My wife need to call them ?
If i dont the change the address, will there be any problem ? please let me know if you have any idea.

Thank you

Amar

Hello Sicilian85,

Would you please share the phone number that you called in November when you were in India. Much appreciated. Thanks.

Amar,

You have to inform CIC if you have changed your address in Canada. It is mandatory.

I moved to different city and I changed the address online.

Well I called CIC and they told me not to contact them if I am visiting my spouse for a vocation. Only Major reason like Address change, or divorce or a new born. Don't worry nothing is going to happen if you go and visit your spouse.

Shiva,

I called CIC in Canada at 1-888-242‑2100.

I didn't call New Delhi regarding this because when I called them before for another inquiry the only thing they said was please call CIC :P I was like man you are immigration. Since then I call CIC Canada for all my questions :)

Hi to the members on this forum u all great help iam a new member here but I have been following this forum daily for the past. 6 months I sponsered my husband from india on july 15,2013 now I have emailing my lawyer for any update but they can care less about it so Iam wondering according to all the senior members here when can I expect any updates ecas only shows file received on july 15,2013 nothing else

The best way to get an update on your case will be to apply for GCMS notes.

Hello everyone,

Wondering if NDVO is done processing June 2013 applicants. Any July applicants are hearing or reading from NDVO?
Thanks.
