I applied to sponsor my wife from New Delhi. Just wanted to check if anyone knows how long does it take to get the passports back.

Medical Done ? (DD-MM-YYYY)
Application Sent to CIC ? (14-09-2013)
Application Received at CIC (16-09-2013)
Date of Sponsorship Approved (26-09-2013)
Date of File Transferred to New Delhi ? (26-09-2013)
Submitted the passport on 28-10-2013

Any help will be appreciated

Hello mine 14 June application, why there is no update after few June applicants, no ip for further June applicants... It's so frustrating to wait at this point... Is there any chance that they r working for any particular target of application... That's what the update is so slow now...

Yes it is really frustrating...I think they are working on mid June applicants..

Hello Ankits, welcome to the forum, at this speed rate you should expect visa in end-may of early-june, there are still many applicants left from jan-may and NDVO issuing visas to june applicants as well, all the best for your application and wishing you speedy visa..

I heard somewhere that they give preference to Citizens. I am a PR an living in Canada for about 5 years now. I know someone, she submitted her passport two weeks after my wife and already got her passport with Visa.

I heard somewhere that they give preference to Citizens. I am a PR an living in Canada for about 5 years now. I know someone, she submitted her passport two weeks after my wife and already got her passport with Visa.

There is no preferences given to Citizens or delay in processing for PR holders, processing time from New Delhi is 8-12 months now, I think you are talking about Temporary Resident Visa, TRV processing time is 2 weeks from India....

Nope she got her sponsorship done in that time, Thats why its puzzling. Sorry for 2 many questions we are just frustrated now. I have been waiting for her as I have to go for a surgery. She cant even come on temp or tourist visa as she doesnt have her passport.

Hey mine is Jun 5th too and still no update. I checked with My mp and as per him they are going to start reviewing my file on Feb 24th .. I think you will hear something by this month surely,.

Just keep praying & I hope you will hear soon from New Delhi office. You might not have to wait 8 or 9 months like us because ndvo working hard and they are issuing visa faster nowadays.

One reason why it is delayed for us because of that 7 months stupid strike. Just started working since Oct 13 and had already issued visa to few of jun applicants .. Wish you a good luck and hope u will hear soon. Meanwhile take care of your health.
