In Process, but its been over three weeks we are still waiting for notification for Re medical exam.

u havnt done madical or planing to do it after geting notification

Hey guys I am new to the site. I came to know of the site as I am planning to do a sponsorship for my wife. A little about me I am a Canadian Citizen currently residing in the USA on business visa. My wife she is a citizen of India and is living with me in USA on dependent visa. She also has a multi entry visitor visa for Canada. Now I am planning to move back to Canada so can my wife come in to Canada as a visitor and than I apply for her sponsorship inland? Now as a visitor she will get to stay for 6 months in Canada while the sponsorship will take about 18 months inland what can I do for that? Also she is a student in college so will I have to pay international fees until she gets her PR?

Or would it be best for me to send my file to Delhi?

It won't be possible for you to apply inland with her on a visitor visa. Anyway the processing time is longer in land. You have few option, as she is studying you could try to have her on a studying visa and apply inland. You can also apply from India and have her visiting you on her visitor visa. With this second option she will have to be ready to fly back to India when they will request her passport and stay there until she gets her passport stamped(NDVO is requesting passport very early but you can ask them a second passport request stating that your wife need her passport and they will request it later)

This is, according to me, the two options you have... Maybe another forum member might have more suggestions for you... Many people are really knowledgeable here!

I believe it is a first to be notified about interview via ECAS. I am sure a phone call or letter is on its way. But this is better for you to learn about this as soon as possible. Maybe it is time that you apply for GCMS asap as well as an MP enquiry to try to find the cause for interview call.

hope they moves our files to Ottawa (not sure if their processing rate is better than New Delhi) at least they may find age difference not a big deal...yours and my timeline are similar ..I have ordered notes for third time and I am less hopeful if they had done anything about anything. Perhaps I might find where my passport request went and if an interview is recommended...keep your fingers and knuckles uncrossed so that you don't have to go to a bones specialist (assuming you live in Canada, even if health care is free, scheduling a doctor's visit would take your toes crossed and feet twisted..since your fingers are already busy, you have to use your toes instead)...if you are living in India, forget about doctor....better order your MRI first before you schedule your doctor's appointment since they require MRI even for finger nail pain...

not having atleast a passport request 7 months into an application is very concerning and depressing .. are u sure you havent missed it?

I'm a 28th May applicant and its been over 3 months my passport is with the NDVO.. My status still says Application Received and Medicals received.. When will my status change to In Process??

My wife's passport was requested on May 28th and IP was on Oct 10th, which is close to 5 months .. so it's pretty normal & also considering the holiday season it seems just about ok.

finally my ecas is showing in-process since morning today. they said we started processing your file on 19th dec. after 10 months at least thr is some change.my questions to senior members.

can someone get interview call after in-process?
i know its unpredictable but how long it takes these days to get decision made after in process??

Yes it is true that they are taking a long time for part one sponsorship approval. But they cannot reject you unless you have a criminal record or are dependant on the government benefits which makes you incapable of supporting your spouse. If you don't have either, then you shouldn't be worrying about rejection.

They will return your application if there were missing documents and the application was incomplete. And since they haven't returned it to you yet, I think they are having a brain freeze moment where they cannot understand your application and it may seem too complicated to them.

All you can do is wait patiently and/or keep calling them to see what's happening to your file. Or maybe see your MP if he could find out for you.

they can refuse your application only based on criminality status and/or if you had been on government welfare...other than that, I think they can return the document if you had not signed...I don't think they can refuse your application just like that but they can ask for additional documents if needed

congrats saidpuria finally some good news.....now no interview for u since u got IP and u already got ADR so its a green signal from their side...wait for DM now.....last blast of DM was 7-9th nov after that hardly any visa's issued.....average was 4 weeks but seems like its more than 1-2 months in IP now......but im sure most of us will get DM's in jan....wish u a speedy DM and congratulations once again

there were a couple of members in this forum who had to wait until 'decision made' to send their passport..so I am not too concerned about not getting a request. Besides, my lovely mini war and peace 'notes' (30 pages to qualify for a mini epic) showed 'nothing started'. Twice ordered and twice confirmed that I had not missed the email (third one will be a charm and will say 'passport' was requested 4 times). Now concerned about not seeing a status change for a long time. So, does that mean, is interview scheduled for me? stay tuned and third week of January, my 'notes' will reveal the season finale.
