Is there anything special about ur marriage? like age difference, different religion, second marriage?
It depends on each VO how they assess the application. They will check the whole file as a new application but they might also look at the previous application history.
I can't fully answer the question, sorry...someone with similar experience might be able to help.
Check this topic...http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/all-spouse-appeal-cases-come-here-and-join-us-plz-t87619.1710.html but this topic is for ppl who got refused n they appealed the VO's decision. In your case u decided to re-apply which is another way of going about a refusal. Wishing u all the best!

Yes,he is a Hindu and I am a Christian, but I went to India again after he got refused and we registered our marriage to special marriage this time. I just hope they will consider my first application history. Thanks for the info.

theoretically 'yes' it may take up to 11 months..some 2012 applicants have been waiting longer..it does not mean yours too. Majority get their visas within 8 months but some longer. Each application is carefully reviewed, analyzed, check against rules and regulations, sent to superiors and set aside if it requires more documentation and reviews. If you are lucky and application is straightforward with no complications, your processing visa officer is in a good mood (Diwali bonus and a good spouse/parents/in-laws helps to elevate his/her mood) and stars aligned, you may get it in 8 to 10 months.

Thanks,I hope it won't take a year :(..We got married in my country too but didn't include it in the application cuz it might confuse them.

Contacting them is a real waste of time. They said email it for every question we asked.

However, i have applied for notes 10 days before and requested MP to inquire the status last week. Hope my MP responds by tomorrow. Next step is to mail the minister.

ya wait for ur GCMS....but MPs office ususally respond back in 2-3 days..so you should hear something from them (dont expect too much from MPs office.).

@myrah..thanks for the stats. I dont get why these ppl are waiting for more than 3 months after seeing in-progress...

what a horrible process this is...

Hi all! Can anyone tell me please if I can send a GCMS notes now or too early? I just wanna know if they started with my application..Thanks :)

Too early...I had applied for 1st notes in mid Aug, then it said nothing started & Some May applicants who got their notes this month have nothing started on their files. They are still doing applications from April & before April. I think you should wait till Jan for notes.
If u registered ur marriage as per how CIC wants then ur case is all gud and I think you'll be fine, but they won't do any faster than their normal processing time, they will treat it as a new application. But we never know, we can only hope for the best & wait. You can always try ur luck through ur local MP inquiry :)

Thanks miss_b..I guess I should just wait for few months. I went to MP the other day and the same answer, she said it's too early to inquire. I thought it will make any difference because this is my second application. Anyway,I just have to wait :)
