Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander yesterday released the following statement:

“Our government continues to look at all reasonable options to make Canada's already generous immigration system even more flexible, fast and fair. To that end, I am pleased to announce another common sense move to cut wait times for newcomers who are committed to contributing to Canada's long-term growth and prosperity.

“The application process has, for too long, been bogged down by persons who unnecessarily delay the process for everyone else by not taking the process seriously.

“We are committed to ensuring that those who play by the rules and work in good faith to become Canadian citizens will not have to wait in line behind people who fail to attend their citizenship test or interview, or who fail to submit a residence questionnaire.

“We remain committed to eliminating backlogs and continuing to enhance the value of Canadian citizenship.”

Hi zormas.... thanks for your concern...I asked my MP to check the status and I got standard reply 'file under review...got your medical results...we will check again in Dec'....as for GCMAS, I have ordered a copy and will get it sometime around sept 20th...

My lawyer will get the call or email since she is the main contact person....I asked my lawyer if I need to stay in Canada since my part of sponsorship has been approved..she said no and if I go back it will strengthen my case and not affect..so, off I go to India on Oct 25th and stay there until this process is over...

Congratulations to all the people that got there Visa,s and dm so happy for you guys.
Excited to see that Visa office is working.most of the people are getting visas within six months even with this strike .

Hi, I am vinod,i am working under LMO in ALBERTA. my work experience in canada 1 full year as restaurant waiter (server), then got promoted as restaurant supervisor 6 months before . And i have 6 years experience in Italy. May 2013 i got married . so my question is , Am i eligible to apply for dependent visa for my wife before applying for P.R.
just because PR takes time .so better bring her to canada first then apply for PR. that is my idea.

Is there any chances ,she can apply from india for the dependent visa .
she is working as Software Developer for past 2 and 6 months. she completed BE. and she scored 6.5 In IELTS.

Please give me your best advice to start my process for my wife.
thank you,
vinod.

This applied only for Citizenship. He is not talking about the immigration.
