Passport submitted to Delhi: July 1, 2013

My husband had to travel to India to submit his passport for the final PR visa sticker. He did this upon receiving a second request for his passport with a deadline. Has anyone else had this experience? How long did it take to process?

I've heard from a Foreign Service Worker rep that the strike action is causing delays to be about double the normal processing times and it's getting worse. With a new Immigration Minister and the Treasury Board standing firm it looks like the strike could go into the fall.

Our case is quite similar. Application was filed from USA. We got email from NDVO on June 27, 2013 to submit passport and pay the landing fee within 2 months, and we did quickly. On July 15, 2013, we received the second email as a reminder that we did not submit the passport and do it asap. We reply back the same email with courier tracking record as a proof that the passport has been delivered to NDVO. We have no idea whether they have read that email.

We are contacting the MP now. The medical is expiring in Sep 2013.

I suggest we all weigh in on PAFSO announcement on FB (like the announcement) and twitter. Be polite and state that Gov't should consider the arbitration.
