Buds : No, I have not! I stayed in Canada for 5 months, Came back in December holidays and then went back in January and again stayed for 4 months. So, basically i have not stayed for 6 months in one go!!

The six month count doesnt have to be continuous. It is the total time you stayed in Canada. In your case you have to submit a police certificate from RCMP. There is a member in 2012 forum who didn't stay in Canada for 6 months and still they asked for a RCMP certificate at the last stage of processing.

Generally how much time it takes for stataus to be updated on Ecas after transferring of file to home country?
My wife's file was transferred to New Delhi on April 23rd. Ecas still shows application received on April 4th ( April 4th is the date when file was received at Missisauga office ).

It's updated every Tuesday....my ecas also shows similar info as urs....my ecas says application received on march 19

I have been living in Canada for over a year now. I sent my PR application under FSW2 last month with complete set of documents.
I am under impression that PCC from Canada is not required so I didn't obtained one. But after reading some conflicting posts (by experienced members) that PCC from Canada is required if lived for more than 6 months, I am confused. Nowhere on CIC website it says if its required.

I didn't submit mine and they didn't ask me to submit it as well. I got PR without it. But I submitted original copy of PC from back home. I would suggest you to wait. If they required, they would contact you. Best of luck.

Hi guys,
i have canadian PR and i recently gt married in India and came back to Canada in feb. 2013 and filed papers to sponsor my wife on march 6, 2013. den after sum days i got email frm CPC mississauga in which dey said dat we received ur papers on march 6 and along wid dat dey gave me my application/file no. in dat email. After dat i received a letter attached in my email frm CIC department on April 8,2013 dat u hav met all conditions as a sponsor nd ur eligible to sponsor ur spouse hence ur file has been forwarded to a visa office abroad i.e. to New Delhi. But after dat till today i.e. till may 2, 2013 me or my wyf have not received any other letter or email from CIC to submit my wyf's passport for issuing visa or anything etc etc. i mean no advances ahead now...... neither dey hav asked to send dem d passport nor dey hav asked for any other documents or proofs etc.... when i check d details of my file on cic website it says dat we received ur file for sponsorship on march 6 nd we send u a letter stating dat we hav send ur file to New Delhi for further processing and medical results have been obtained.... dats it
im worried dat its almost a month nd d file is in New Delhi office nd dey havnt asked for d passport is evryting ok???
shud i email or call d visa office in New Delhi or just wait???
plzz help me out wid ur valuable replies.....

you don't need to tell us your life story. everyone on this forum has done the same as you and up to this point, you're more or less in the same boat as everyone else. The status in eCas isn't reliable so don't rely on it as it won't change until the decision is made. Just sit tight and have patience.

I would suggest that you send them an email and attach a scan of her new passport. And in the message body , just explain that this is her new passport.

i applied in march and got passport request from new delhi along with police certificates and landing fee. but these two documents we already submitted with file in missisauga. should i send my passport only to delhi or should i attach photocopies of other documents which they requested?

U shud submit whatever they have asked as they need it n if u wnt submit it might delay ur process...
