You can get it from your local SP or Commissioner office. Passport office is also an option. CIC will accept both.

Hi Tenzin,

It depends upon the area of the residence of the Principal Applicant. The best one is to get the PCC from the Passport Office. Now-a-days you have to go to the Nearest Passport Seva Kendra of your jurisdiction in your city. If the Passport has been made recently and current residence of the Principal applicant is same which is being filled in the Form then you may get PCC on the same day by paying the Fees of Rs. 500/- in cash. Otherwise in case of change of address then the whole procedure of Police Verification is followed by the Passport Office and the PCC will be issued after the verification only.

You may find your Passport Seva Kendra by clicking the following link :

http://www.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/locatePSK/locatePFCInp

For more info on how to apply the PCC (Procedure), you may click the following link :

http://www.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/online/pccOnlineApp

You may download the eform from the following link for PCC (3rd option) :

http://www.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/online/downloadEFormStatic

Please note that you have to download the eform, fill it and save it and it will be saved in XML format automatically. You have to mention the Country as Canada for which PCC is required. Then you have to register the user ID in name of Applicant on same website, Login in to the account, upload the form in XML format which you have saved earlier, Once it shows successfully uploaded then you may print the receipt and carry it to the Passport Seva Kendra. You need not book any appointment. You can go for walk in for getting PCC. Appointment is required for applying the Passports only not for PCC. On website there is misleading info for booking appointment. The Fees has to be paid in Cash. The Original Passport has to be carried along with you along with other required documents according to the website. If you still any doubts then you can contact the Passport Seva Call Centre at 1800-258-1800 (Toll Free).

I have followed the above procedure and got my PCC on the same day.

I hope this will help.

All the BEST,
GULZAR !!!

Hi Muksi,

Thanks for joining and helping the other members on this Forum. But the problem with the SP and Police Commissioner's PCC is that they don't have the fixed Format of the PCC and it really varies form the state to state and also they mention some expiry date on the PCC whereas on the Passport Seva Kendra it is a standard format all over India which is not confusing as well as there is no expiry on the PCC. Another point is that, it is more authenticated because they put the stamp on the Passport for issuing the PCC for that Country which is Canada in our case.

I hope that you will agree with above situation. So in order to stay away from the complications it is always advisable to go through the Passport Seva Kendra.

Hi Gulzar,
I agree with you. Whichever is convenient will work. How long did it take to get PCC from passport office?

I got it from police and it doesnt have an expiry date either.

Thanks & All the best!

Hi GulzarND

Thanks for starting this forum. Good work.
I guess i can join u in taking this further to help others.

for now i am preparing my documents. I am getting married in March 18th, will be back to canada by 31st. Submitting my application in first week of April.

As of now my case is i become PR very recently and its a arranged marriage fortunately everything happened immediately..i wish CIC dont find fault in that :)

i got my Card last week only lanaded in November 2012.

As for documents concerned..

starting with my tickets to india in december for engagement,
marriage tirp tickets, ocpy of PR card, copr, employment letter, house rent agreement, payslips, bank statements
being in quebec i have to submit my csq copy and then our joint bank account statemnet from indian account., already name change in passport is done, police certificate, marriage cretiricate all will be ready before i come back so i will be submitting all of them, phone bills, email communictions, chat scripts, etc
all filled application packages

now here is what my clarifications are

as of now CPM - Mississauga says its taking 55 days for eligibility check. is that takes 55 days? or possibility to get it before ?

as of NDVO process concerned i know we cant do anything we will still wait for things to happen as it goes... but i am trying to be faster from my side as much i can do to support my application so that they don't request extra docs

with respect to medicals...can i do medicals before they send? how medicals work in this case? we do it in advance before submitting my application to Mississauga or after submitting?

Thanks for your advice.

Thanks
Prasamp
Hi Prasamp,

I request you to post all your questions here in the Forum only. It helps the other Forum members and new applicants who are planning to file an Application for PR. Please PM only if you want to discuss something really personal.

First of all, if your case is Genuine then you should not worry about the CIC regarding marrying immediately after getting your PR.

Regarding CPC Mississauga, at the moment the Approval time for Stage 1 for Jan Applicants are less than 21 days. I think there is lot of work going on in CPC Mississauga as they are going to speed up the immigration process for the Spouses and other Family Class category. Click the Link to view the spreadsheet.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvI5l_hMO7UKdDEtTzVVZ2lzWmhRZzF6VzVfQWhBV2c#gid=0

At NDVO, they are processing case according to the complicity of the Case. Every Application is unique and different and so is their processing time respectively. So don't worry about NDVO's many applicants have got their Passport back in just 3 - 4 months only from their date of Application. Nobody can't predict them.

Regarding medical exam in case of spousal immigration, it is mandatory to it before applying it to CPC. It is totally different from the FSW where you receive the request for doing the Medical Exam. You can follow the link for the complete guide and forms for applying for PR for your spouse (Outland) process.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

I hope this helps.

All the BEST,
GULZAR !!!

Hi GulzarND,

Please let me know the procedure for getting medicals done from Delhi that includes Medical test fees, approx. time for booking an appointment, documents required etc etc.

I contacted the Delhi medical center but they required my details (name, DOB etc.) and told me that the immigration dept. will give me a call back to address my concerns.

Is it ok to share the applicant's details with the immigration dept. before receiving a medical request ? Thanks in advance.

Hi Canadavisa07,

This Forum is for Family Class (Spousal PR Visa) only. From your previous posts, I have found that you have applied in Canadian Experience Class Category which is entirely a different process. I have no idea about that category. I only know that in Spousal Category the Principal Applicant has to get the medical done before applying itself. You have to better follow the instructions of the Registered Panel Physicians listed on the CIC website.

I am sorry I have no idea for CEC caegory.

All the BEST,
GULZAR !!!

Hi Gulzar,
Thanks for the reply.
I am initiating the PR process for my wife and son.
Have couple question for you:
1. My wife is the principal applicant. Do I need to fill out separate IMM 0008 for my son?
2. Fees: Sponsorship $75 + Principal applicant spouse $475 + Principal applicant dependent child $75 = Total $625 (Is this correct assessment?)

Thanks
