hi guys I'm also an Aug 15 applicant got dm on 25 may it was Sunday wow for me nd i was very exicited but now all the excitement is getting finished up because haven't received my passport yet ... how long does it take ?? I read sumwhere on the site dat dey use DHL courier also, do they? or they use India post ?? its now much frustrating. .

I was talking to someone here who has worked in foreign Canada embassies and she told me that whenever one does a GCMS inquiry or a MP inquiry, the request goes to NDVO, the VO has to pull out your file from the bunch, take the notes and then when they put the file back, they put it back to the bottom of the file and so you essentially lose your place in que. So it looks like it is better not to do this inquiry as anyways it is not going to serve any purpose except satiate your curiosity.

i applied for notes four times and it took the same time of 10 months like anyone else..no top of the heap or bottom of the heap....

it takes 2 -3 weeks to recieve passport. Don't worry

If i were you, i would prolong this moment of happiness more as when the PP arrives, this chapter has ended and you iwll be on to the next chapter in life. PP will come to you dont you worry,...but enjoy this moment a little longer......have a pizza....enjoy your favorite drink......smile...relax....and just close your eyes.......

I have heard from my various friends and on the forums here that NDVO processing times used to be fast, but due to a strike at the office last year there is so much backlog. Can you please tell me if this is true. Was there a strike? and how long was it for? Thanks.

Yes processing times have drastically increased. But I think it is slowly coming back to its previous shape but not fast enough.
