hahahahaha...is it really a Municipal office..lol, I thought they have computers and hard files are proofs and records only.
like any other organization, for communication purpose like status updates, GCMS they don't have to pull their piles, they do this on computers, and they can take a note on system for individual file, I am 200% sure they have a customized software package where they work on individual files, there is no fun in working with pen and paper for 600 files a month and 3500 a year. Be reasonable please.
and btw Andrew, there cannot be a sequence, as NDVO has multiple people working on multiple files, with different speed, according to the complexity of each case,
sequence can be achieved if there is only 1 immigration officer responsible for all files, but that is not the case, 600 files a month, distributed for example 30 to each of 20 immigration officers, all officers will be working on random application dates files, with different speed. I hope you got my point. And don't worry about your turn because of GCMS notes or status updates.

I was talking to someone here who has worked in foreign Canada embassies and she told me that whenever one does a GCMS inquiry or a MP inquiry, the request goes to NDVO, the VO has to pull out your file from the bunch, take the notes and then when they put the file back, they put it back to the bottom of the file and so you essentially lose your place in que. So it looks like it is better not to do this inquiry as anyways it is not going to serve any purpose except satiate your curiosity.
