Nothing yet my friend, July has barely started (only a couple of July 2013 applicants have heard something), looks like May is going to be the "good news" month for August 2013 applicants

I just want to clarify something. I recently asked my lawyer friend about my case. I asked him why it is taking so long to process my wife's case when she already had her interview done and passed with medical send again. He replied that the processing time is only for those individuals who did not have a interview. If you had an interview then the processing time doesn't matter at all is this correct???

He said the interview will add at least 3 to 4 months give or take for NDVO to look into your file again. Please reply.

Not necessary but if you do get an interview then the 13 months rule doesn't apply. They will increase the months needed to complete the application. Which make's sense as they are lots of people waiting to get visa after the interview.

This is so screwed they changing there rule inside and nobody have any idea why.

that doesnt make sense . After they did thorough bacjground check if they want to confirm they r calling for interview. If they are taking 4 months again after jntervuew what else they can do except analyzing facial expresions of the candidate whike interview

the background check is not done while you have an interview scheduled simply because they are not sure if you will get an approval to get the visa. Why waste money when you can see if they do not pass the interview. There thinking is so strange which is why they are taking so long to issue visa as in checking the background.

Hi allizwell2, hope your wife really gets her visa soon and your wait is over soon. I am not sure about the details of what to do before flying. But landing at the airport, she will get her luggage and go through customs where they will see that she is landing for the first time. She will be taken to another area and they will ask a few questions like what is she bringing to Canada and if there is something that will be coming later on. They will apply for her PR card and SIN number to be sent through post and she can leave to meet up with you finally!!

Hello hello awesome people,

I'm part of the 2012 batch and still waiting for the processing to complete.

Anyways, I have a feeling that my/our wait is coming to an end very soon - so now I need help from the lucky 2013 folks who have already received their visa and completed the journey across the "saat samunder" (lol).

Initially the plan was for me to accompany my SO on the journey to Canada but I might not be able to do so anymore due to work commitments, so can anyone draft an all encompassing checklist/guide that I can share with my SO to thoroughly prepare her for the journey. (And yes, I agree there are posts that cover these individually but if it resides in one post or thread, it would be extremely helpful to everyone including myself.)

I am thinking all things to do and be done before leaving India, experience at the airport (it'll be pearson in my case and the reason for mentioning it is because apparently SIN card number is issued only at pearson during landing - can anyone else confirm this?) - and what else needs to be done after landing/leaving the airport. SIN card, health card, etc.?

Also - to all those who received their package containing PP with the (not so) shiny visa - what items were included? (PP? Landing paper - multiple copies or single copy? Etc.)

Really appreciate it folks - congrats to all those who have completed this process and best of luck to those who in the midst of it.

even this i am not sure. if you can see spread sheet there are cases where after 10 days to 1 month after interview decisions are made . I dont think they can finish back ground check in one month. May be your lawyer wants to drag time as he/she cant do anything except waiting. they have a 3rd party contract to do this so either one file or 100 files should not be matter for them.

Hi SN0206, thanks for the updates... My medicals were not remedicals. It was the first time they requested for the medicals. Just a day or two before they sent me a letter for doing my medicals, my ECAS status was showing medical has been received. It was a mistake from their side. In my GCMS notes I can see that has been corrected.

Welcome to the forum. if you are a september applicant, you will hear good news by July. Keep the hope up. They kept your passport for long time because they were busy processing all older files from 2012 to 2013 too after 6 months strike was over and the system was pretty slow going from last year. Now they are trying to complete all the backlogs and interviews. Dont worry you will hear an update from NDVO soon in few months. Just be patient and be positive like us. All the best!
