Here is an interesting story.....I got married on march 3rd,2013.After 1 whole year i was visiting my wife in india to celebrate wedding anniversary.I have been in india for last 2 weeks.
I have a flight back to Toronto day after tomorrow on 6th of March,so we were all involved in the depressing work of packing and stuff.

and lo.....the Postman comes .....and i get worried because i am sure that it will be an interview letter.......but the package is heavy......and then OMG OMG OMG......Passport with SHINY VISA.

Please also note that an embassy will answer your question only if their average processing time has been exceeded. Otherwise, you should assume that your file is proceeding normally. Processing time starts when your complete application has been received in their office and ends on


the day the final decision (i.e. approval/refusal) leaves their office. As our office has already looked into your file once during regular processing times, we kindly ask that you respect the Visa Office and the posted processing times and wait until June 2014 to make another inquiry. The Visa Office will contact your wife directly, when an interview is scheduled

if you are lucky someone at NDVO might answer your phone call..if you are extremely lucky phone calls answering person might give you an update on your file....most times it is the usual response 'you are within your processing time so wait'. The same goes for MPs. If they are really interested and want to dig deep and not satisfied with 'your applicant is within normal processing time so ask him/her to wait' from call centre, then they can find current status of your file. With ecas, it is not reliable as one forum member found out (status still showing 'application received' even after getting visa then it changed to 'decision made' after few days getting his/her visa). Notes, ah the notes, there is a time lag of 30 days and in that 30 days things could have changed. Now that I made you confused and depressed, go ahead and do all the things that you had mentioned. Just because this is the way it is, does not mean you will not get an answer to your concerns. If you are lucky, with NDVO/MPs/case specific inquiry/notes, you might get an update.

Thank you for giving me your advice. It is quite depressing...aaahhhhh!!! Maybe i can just try giving them a call...whats the harm in trying. I might get an answer i might just get the time limit line. all i gotta say is ALL IS WELL!!!!!! (i hope so)

Yes, I am aware PCC is not required for the newborn. I asked about my wife's PCC.

Oh sorry I think I was a little bit confuse!!! :-\ If your wife pcc is expired, sometimes the officers can extend it, it happens most of the time, and if not, they will ask for a new one (and tell you the procedures...) I'm sorry I couldn't help that much!

That form need to fill and sign by you and you are giving an authority to CIC to release your information of your case, a consent form and nothing else, I don't think it will have any negative effect.

as i earlier said filed application ( Mississauga )- July 7th
File trax- August 5th
PPR - Sep 13th
After that got passport today and then checked the status today, decision made.
Never checked in process.
I hope it helps....
