My timeline :

07 July'12 : Medicals done for my wife and infant son.
04 Sept' 12 : Application sent to Mississauga.
15 Oct' 12 : Acknowledgement rcvd from CIC that they rcvd my application packet.
16 Oct' 12 : Email rcvd from CIC that sponsorship is approved and file has been transferred to New Delhi.
08 Nov' 12 : Passport request rcvd.

Will let u know the date as soon as we send out the passports in the next 1-2 days.

We missed the email came from the NDVO for the PPR. I wasexpecting to my mail, but it went to mywife and she did not check her mails for a long time. Thats how what we got is missed.
So ask your wife / husband to check there mail also along with your for the PPR.
