THank you so much kp0789. I really appreciate your response. My birth place is India. So I think I am on safe side then:):)...On the website it says, the tourist visa is can not be extended, so I can apply for new tourist from visa India if it gets expired!!

Thank you once again kp0789 now I am relaxed :)

Just adding to it, if we are staying in india after our tourist visa expires we will be considered as overstayed and we will have to pay a fine for it..

In other if we enter and exit india in tourist visa we cannot apply for tourist visa for another 180 days....

I need your urgent help regarding an important matter:
I want to go to India. I got married in last December and have not added my husband's name in my passport. So is it ok if my passport still says that I am single?? and one more question: I am a Canadian Citizen and don't know how long will it take for my husband to come here. I was thinking about applying for Tourist visa but they are non extendable and valid for 6 months. If I go to India on Tourist visa, then do you think if I will be able to apply for visa again from India??

Please help me I need urgent help.

Thank you and good luck!!
Hi,
Yes you can extend your visa even upto 5 yrs..You just have to go to your DC office usually in the court complex in the city n they will give u a form to extend your visa which you would have to get filled from a designated visa extension lawyer (the ppl will telll u who)..so everything can done there n then..my wife is a canadian citizen n i've got her visa extended quite a few times.n make sure u keep those forms n stuff in a safe place as you would have to carry them along when u go back to canada n have to notify the visa extension ppl as well..they put a stamp when u leave...its easy..
Cheers

Yes, ideally you should get a confirmation of delivery of e-mail. It comes as automated message.

You could always say that the original marriage certificate is with the spouse in Canada...
