Dear Friends and all seniors

I am making marriage plans and am a canadian permanent resident. It will be my very first marriage and am really excited about it but the only worry from other side is that they want to know the actual processing time for their daughter to be a PR and be with me in Canada. Can anyone guide me about the timeline for getting a spouse PR visa if it is a first marriage and the genuine one.

I would even like to know about filing the case in Canada from Mississauga, ON.

Please guide me and provide me with the time of actual processing as experienced by you.

thanks

Hi Anurag,
Actual processing time varies from case to case. But in general it takes approx. 3 months in Canada, & max. of 8 months in New Delhi, india.
but it takes somewhere around 2- 4 months in India if case is straight forward; but i would say it all depends on luck.
You can also check the processing time in spreadsheet at:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArH8forkPk_AdDQ2cG9lNXlCc0hkTUYzazV4dHZwekE#gid=0
Hope it helps.

thanks Aman, If you won't mind would like to ask you, are you sponsored by someone living in Canada, who is that? I mean to say sponsored as a dependent child or by someone else?

Hi Anurag..

In order to complete the time, normally it takes about 6-7 months ...or even more sometimes ..But try to do it by this year..as CIC keeps on changing the laws...you never know , any thing can be changed..so try to be fast as soon as possible...All d best :)

Dear Friends

yes it is possible only and only if you are a Canadian citizen, in case you are only a PR, you are supposed to stay inside Canada during whole processing time except short trips 2-3 weeks :)
