Alright, good luck with the remaining process!

Hi Senior members

Pls advise !!!

On the ECAS for applicant, its still Canada's address. I have already submitted the 'case specific enquiry' for the address change. ut its still canadian address.

Now surprisingly, in the PPr email, its the Indian address.

Now question is that when i submit my passport, shall i mention about the change in address in the cover letter???

Or shall i just assume that they have the coorect Indian address.

My initial package had the PCC from the Indian consulate. After the file transfer they specifically sent another request stating "Please submit a police certificate from the Bombay area where you lived until 20XX. The PCC issued by the Indian General Consulate is not sufficient."

My father in Mumbai had to jump hoops to get this as I've been out of the country for nearly a decade now.

Great! I did exact same. The thing is my PCC is stuck in CID Bombay for reasons unknown which is why I sent one from the consulate. Now the thing is even my passport is not renewed/issued in India..and from June 1st, they no longer issue PCC to passport holders whose passports were issued elsewhere. Ahh I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Travel history lots or none or little make no difference to the actual processing of a file in ND CHC. Its just that applicants tend to face difficulties in obtaining right police clearance certificate at the right time on a condition that they were all obtained from country specific sources as expected by CIC. Another thing to note is the issue of some PCCs getting expired..however as long as the PCCs were all obtained from accurate sources, remain valid, cover the periods/region of the stay then it is not a problem. All the checks they do on the system is done from all regions for that particular applicant via CSIS,CBSA,CIC,RCMP and if they dont find any hits on the applicant and the PCCs were all valid then its a simple good to go.. same thing is for an applicant who have no travel history..the process still remains the same..

Hope this helps.

Thanks alot! And congratulations on your visa!

Congrats Ashu! Congrats Kanika! Done eh! Must be feeling lighter in the head! Well, I do .

Got the passport,COPR and all my pictures back ( i really wanted the pics, spent like 100$ for printing lol)

They did not sent the passport till Aug 7th for us and that they did as I had to ask my MP to intervene, but glad its done now.

I am going to get my notes in 4-5 days( it would be interesting to see what it shows ) and I think that CIC was actually contacted the very same day they did my DM for the notes lol - Call it perfect TIMING or what not! :P , hence a delay for sending back the passport

OR it could be that it was taking them time to DISCARD my proofs (given my package was over 5000 pages thick!)

As I know for sure that once the DM is showing with the city, province -> they must have send the passport back and it do not take more then 5-8 business days for them to send it back.. they never send it back till aug 7 hence we did not get it. They did not issue the COPR till Aug 7 hence the city and province did not show up on ECAS even after DM.

Good luck to all who are in line... I am sure its going to happen soon for all

Hello Lalatata...

Wish you luck for your future and a smooth life ahead in Canada. :) :)

And Ashu thanks for extending your help to this forum!!

We need it .

All - in desperate need for some guidance. Parents Passports were requested Dec 2011 along with medical request. Medical done and passport sent on January 17, 2012. It has been over 7 months and no response. Sent CSE, still no response - even tried sending a letter. Not sure where to turn to now. To make matters worse, my mom is Malaysian citizen living in India with PIO and her passport will expire in 6 months - need to renew passport as well. Any guidance/suggestions will be truly appreciated.

Congrts to all, who got their PPR and DM on the very first day of this week :) :)

Hope we all hear something good from ND VO soon :)
