Hi Folks,

We have a question on the mailing address as seen in ECAS for the principal applicant or person being sponsored.

Currently, it's a US mailing address. We are planning to change that to the Indian mailing address now after we got PPR request, and it mentioned we should update the mailing address to a local one since they don't send the passport to a country outside of India, Nepal and Bhutan.

So, what did others do to update the mailing address, just hit the update button in ECAS, or send an email back to New Delhi?

Or use the case specific enquiry?

Thanks!

:D

I usedc case specific enquiry for the same thinng

How come your already got your ppr but you didn't apply until the end of May?! It's not fair how ND works. People from April are still waiting for this... :(

Anyhow, in regards to your question, just send a case specific enquiry with this change. Also, it might be good to include the address change in a letter to accompany your passport when you send it, just to be sure.

thanks a lot guys (lalatata, ashunandal, sumitd) for your response....really got a relief.....:)..thanks

Congrats Kash, you will receive your passport with visa soon, could you mention the phone number by which you received the call from ND Visa office, I missed a call before a day, I called back on that number but no one answered, I wonder if it would be the same number from VO.

it actually just showed up as the generic ND number, last part of the number was 82000, same one available online... can't really call back though, tried and its just an answering service and operator that will not let you talk to anyone.

Hi Ashunandal

what that means "permanent resident documentation or kit" on ecas status. is it just the passport with visa or some more documents...

Important Question:

Do we have to give the some sort of information about the people in pictures that we have to send as a proof of relationship ?....
Those who got their DM...please throw some light on this....

I sent over 300 pictures covering entire period of our relation...but didn't explain, for example, who is in the pictures...

Its not necessary to mention the people in the pictures. However **since I had too much time on my hand**, I put the date, occasion and people in each of the 100 pictures I sent. I also segregated them separately as "engagement pictures", "marriage pictures", "honeymoon pictures", "reception pictures", "miscellaneous pictures", and so on... I wrote on the back of each picture- but I know many people who did not do so, and yet have gotten their spouse's visas approved.

I think its not New Delhi that does this. If you can observe, sponsorship approval from February/March took more than 100 days for quite a few, and about 90+ days for April. And Suddenly people from May end/June were getting approvals in 40-50 days. Once your sponsorship is approved from Mississauga, the file gets transferred to New Delhi.

Now New Delhi usually asks for Passport after two or three weeks. Sometimes it is not requested till the end of the process, when all reviews and checks are done. If ND asks for passport in the initial review stage, it will do so within 2-3 weeks of them obtaining the application package from Mississauga. New Delhi has no control as to when the applications are received from Mississauga. So if people from May end are getting passport requests, it means those files were transferred EARLY from Mississauga, ahead of many other applicants.

One has to question the rationale of Mississauga not processing the sponsorship approvals in the order they were received.

ECAS will be same even after PPR, they dont update PPR on ECAS. it will change to "in process" when you pass the eligibility and then decision made
best of luck :)

Thank you ashunandal !! :)
