Same rules and criteria?
i mean to say, they still update ecas in same order :)

do you think they go by the file transfer date or PPR date in terms of picking up your application.
there is no logic behind picking your file by PPR date, they must go by file transfer date and i think they do

to me it looks like they go by the File transfer date. what do you think?

Thanks man...

my file was transferred on the 12th of june, i guess they are in first or early 2nd week of june..

But at the same time some Feb applicants are still waiting to hear an update.

i guess it depends on how long it takes to do the backround check and other verifications..

Sumit.

What is average days to receive Passport request?

Important Question:

Do we have to give the some sort of information about the people in pictures that we have to send as a proof of relationship ?....
Those who got their DM...please throw some light on this....

I sent over 300 pictures covering entire period of our relation...but didn't explain, for example, who is in the pictures...

Thanks for the help ashunandal and what about E-CAS info, would it show only mailing address and "application received" till I get PPR?
ECAS will be same even after PPR, they dont update PPR on ECAS. it will change to "in process" when you pass the eligibility and then decision made
best of luck :)

There is a reason why its said ... Picture say more then words. As long as your picture are well organized making it into a flow which can tell/show the story of the relationship there is not need to explain and name folks. Its of no use for them to know the names/relations.. as long as you have described well in the Applicant Questionnaire form about the relationship, its good..thats why they ask those questions specifically from start to finish in the form itself.

No need to worry.

i think, they suggested in application guide to give details of each person in photos. i just wrote their names on the back of each photo but it should not create any problem, if you didnt write anything.

Nebula,

Not everyone will describe relatives in pictures, as long as you tell them in your notes in form 5409 that your parents and relatives attented the wedding, that should be good enuf...

but at the other end some people do write behind the pictures...

to be honest with you at the end this does not affect the application.

They do ask for names of folks who you met/know/attended functions in the forms too so you be allright as long as you filled the forms with those names ...

Kamar, there is no such thing as Average number of days for anything to do with CIC, however every VO do have a tendency to request passport at certain number of days. For ND, Its about 2-3 weeks (15 days).

It does not mean if you did not receive a PPR in 15 days then something is wrong though.. for some applicants they can wait till the end of the application, either way they dont do anything with the passport of the applicant till the end and it would not matter if someone gets a PPR in 1 day or 50 days as long as the file is being worked upon , there is no worries.

Always keep in mind, NO news from CIC is a GOOD thing (mostly) If they Need something, or have a question they will contact you. If you see any mistakes online for add or something changes from you application since you filed it, you should contact the VO by email.

Thats it. Be patient!

KaviVenk - Congrats for the PPR :)
I figured that your timeline is similar to mine... appln sent and sponsorship approval. So, hopefully I should get mine early next week. Around which time (IST/EST) did you receive the PPR? And am hoping it's an email?

Hi Kishu. Yes, your timelines are very similar to ours. Received at about 5:30 AM EST via email.
I'm sure the others and you around the similar timeline are up next, ;D
