New Delhi - 2012 applicants

hello everyone,
I am following this Forum from a long time.

below are the details of my application
Category........: FAM
Visa Office......: New Delhi
App. Filed.......: 27-05-2012
app Received.: 29-05-2012
File Transfer...: 09-07-2012
ppr and AOR :27-07-2012
in-process:15-10-2012

I received mail on 9 nov,2012 from NDVO to submit FBI clearance till 15 dec,2012. and it is written on mail that failure to submit within time period could result in refusal of your application.
in Note :medicals are valid till 15 jan,2013

but FBI will process application in 6 weeks.

I e-mailed NDVO for some time extension but didn't get any reply yet.

could anyone tell me what happens if any deadline is missed?
or please suggest any solution

I will suggest you not to panic first of all, even visa officers know that FBI clearance takes time.

Best thing which I can suggest you is just apply for FBI clearance and send CIC the confirmation that you have applied for it and attach a cover letter explaining that you will send the clearance report as soon as you get it.

Request CIC to consider your case keeping the present situation in consideration.

It has been more then 2 months since they received my passport,i don't know what it the delay. Only reason i can think of is that I am in US since last 4 years so back ground check is taking time. But people applying after me have been approved.Also, i was in process before Passport Request. Is there any body whose case is similar to mine: out of country /applied Feb/March 2012. Any guesses/ ideas are welcome.All i need is my passport as i have to attend my brother's marriage in India in mid december

Hi 1one1; I would suggest that you request to put the application on hold as you have a valid reason. I have seen people doing that before. Also, i was wondering why did you not submit it at first place.I have similar case to you and submitted the FBI clearance right when i applied. My passport has been sent to New Delhi and i am waiting for the approval. I applied back in Feb 2012. So probably yours will be similar timeline to mine.

Hi everyone. Not sure if any of you can help me. My husband and I applied through London as he is on a work visa until March 2013. He is an Indian citizen. Someone in another thread said that if his visa expires in the UK before the PR is approved, the file will be transferred to New Delhi. Have any of you been in this situation? I've been trying to search but having no luck figuring the right search terms. Our file may begin processing before his visa expires but definitely not approved as I only just got my sponsor approval.

To add on to other suggestions, ask your sponsor to call up canadian CIC, narrate your story and take their advice too. Their suggestion might help...

I have exact timelines as yours .. Applied on feb 27th . Passport sent July 7th and waiting to get back my passport . I have 3 years of US stay . I came to canada before sending my passport and now my visitor stay is about to end in a month and there is no update from ND . I got my notes last week and my file was lying in registry from 8/20 till 11/05 . Hopefully they will do something on my file in coming days . I did saw that my fathers name has been added to address on ecas.

I think they are adding father's name for most of the applicant. mine added too but it does'nt matter the thing which matter tht is Status which should b " Decision Made".......all of us need tht very badly.

i think it might have changed last week... we cudnt check for some days.. it says in process from Nov 5.

Absolutely, it was a big visit and im pretty sure it added to the delay and then diwali does tend to slow down office work too...2 more days this week but not very high hopes...

i guess none of us wud mind another 1 week's wait.. but not more than that.... fingers crossed
