To avoid all the hassle in future, you need to get your wife’s name changed legally in the province where you reside.
After , that you need apply for new PR card with all the supporting documents .Once you receive a new PR card with the changed last name , you can apply for all other documents.

I understand that Immigration will just send the PR card with the information they collect from passport and immigration documents at the time of landing so what is the process of changing her last name on her PR card and to have changed last name on all her IDs and canadian issued documents thereafter?
I just want to get it right the first time not going back to everyone after couple months to get her last name changed. Please share your experience and suggesstions.
