Hello Everyone,

- can Guarantor be a family member? example Brother-in-law.

- should guarantor fill his part of the form with hand? In the notes accompanying the form it says so.

- is landing page considered a "certificate of identity"

- what documents can we provide as "Docs to support identity" section 5 - need 2 docs

Family members can be gaurentor if they meet proffessional conditions as link http://www.canadainternational.gc.c...s_passeport/guarantor-repondant.aspx?lang=eng

but a brother, relatives and friends can be your references.

Gaurentor must be licensed Proffessional like Family Doctor, Nurse, accountant or your previous Lawyer, i would suggest you bring the app form to Family Doctor as i guess everyone any canada have Family Doctor or local walk in clinic you use many times past 2 yrs.

1. You really should re-read the instructions. http://tinyurl.com/yblxqc4d
2. If your B/Law meets the requirements listed in section L of the application, then yes.
3. You complete the section, sign three times and then have the guarantor sign.
4. No

Driver's license
health card
foreign passport or govt id card
Birth certificate
etc

This is wrong. The guarantor can be any Canadian citizen who recently held a valid passport and has known the applicant for two years.

It is NOT necessary for the guarantor to be a licensed professional. see the link that was shared above. (Option A in your own link)

Guarantors can be a close kin irregardless of nationality so long he/she is resident of the country.

I’m not a canadian citizen, but I guaranteed my child and my spouse was the reference when we applied passport for our kid.

Passport Canada employees are okay with that set up. Just reason with them when you apply. I bet they’ll listen to you.
