Hello All,

Just wanted to start a thread on New Canada Immigration Law effective this June end 2010.

Do you think IT professionals with more than 67 points will now be required to get a job offer to immigrate to Canada ?

Appreciate your inputs on this.

Thanks !

Yes.

All IT professionals will now require a firm job offer before they will be considered. There is no need for IT professionals anymore in Canada, many Canadian IT professionals cannot find a job. Therefore, Canada does not require these skills anymore. Even if you manage to get over the 67 points, without the job offer you will be unable to apply.

Sorry but I am sure you understand that it would be pointless coming to a Country if you couldn't get work here. Maybe it would be best to look around and see what Countries are still requiring people in your skill area.

Thanks for the reply. You are right. But it leaves me wonder how a developed country like Canada is not short of skilled IT workers and survive without them.

This is my first post to this forum. I can see from this forum itself the standard of people who Canada is willing to take..No offence .. I guess "Geo" is very excited that he is eligible and we are not All the best to everyone. Hope everyone gets his/her dream citizenship :) Thank you all for the valuable inputs.

I agree and for those that have a high skill level in IT, they will always be able to find a job offer and be able to apply. There is no upper cap limit on applications with a secured job offer, so for those that still want to come to Canada, that would be the route.

Canada has a lot of Canadian IT professionals right now but this does not mean that in the future things will change. If it does, then immigration will once again open the doors for all IT professionals to apply.

If you are confident with your skills and know you are able to pass the IELTS score, then start getting those resumes off. It may be harder at first but to come to Canada having secured a job is a much nicer start to a new life...yes??
