Update@Nov 20, 2016 - Around 12:25 AM EST - I received 30 points for my Canadian Education.

So, I see the following four questions appeared under the "Education" section, if you modify your Canadian Education:

1. Was this degree, diploma or certificate:
  • from a public post-secondary school, such as a college, trade/technical school, university or CEGEP (in Quebec)
  • from a private post-secondary school that operates under the same rules as public schools
  • a diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) or an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP) earned through a qualifying study program of at least 900 hours from a private school in Quebec, or
  • a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from a Canadian private school that can legally award degrees under provincial law. (The student must have been enrolled in a study program that led to a degree as set out by the province.)
Answer: Yes/No

2. What is the Designated Learning Institution (DLI) number of the school? (If you don't know it, you can find it on our site.)
Answer: DLI Number of my college from CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-institutions-list.asp)

3. Was more than half the study program English or French as a second language courses?
Answer: Yes/No

4. Did XXXXXXXX study in Canada based on an award that required them to go back to their home country to apply their knowledge and skills? This includes some awards from Global Affairs Canada.
Answer: Yes/No

I updated my profile, but I don't see points appearing yet. A new field has came up, stating "CRS - Canadian education" under my CRS chart with No points.

I was sponsored by my country's previous government and I was required to go back to my home country to apply my skills and knowledge, but right now due to new regime and war I am not required to go back. How should I answer the third question regarding scholarships?

You should answer "Yes". War and regime is not covered under Express Entry.

I had a friend from Saudi Arabia, who was also sponsored, but instead of going back, he applied for political asylum. He got PR. Consult a good lawyer for asylum application.

Thank you but I don't need asylum and the question has two parts, yes I was awarded a scholarship and No I am not asked to go back now. That's why I am confused, and War and Regime will determine my answer!!!!!!

Quite a similar situation here. I'd say 'No' since you were not asked to go back and apply your skills.

I update my profile but haven't seen additional 30 point. Still at 469 >:( >:( >:(

Anyone here got their profile updated with new score?

Thanx for your answer; Do you think that if we contacted CIC, they would have an answer?

Try sending case specific inquiry
