Hi I and my wife have PR under FSW 2014. we both landed first time in 18 April 2015 and have not got PR till yet. My wife (Secondary applicant) got PR CARD.

Now I m back to India on 27 April 2015. My wife is expecting and due date is in Jan or Feb 2015.

Considering my PR validity for 5 years. I need to get PR for New born also. Please suggest the way how to go about it.

Is there anyway where we can get PR for our child also while in india, as we are planning to shift to canada in starting 2017.

Regards

If the baby is born outside of Canada, one of you will then have to move to Canada and apply to sponsor the child. While the sponsorship is in process, the PR has to stay in Canada.
You can apply for a TRV for the baby. If you get one, you and your wife can travel to Canada with the baby. Often, however, TRVs for babies are refused (since obviously the baby is not just visiting Canada). You can then apply for a TRP.

If your wife gives birth in Canada, the child will automatically be a Canadian citizen, and you would not have to sponsor him or her.

Thanks for prompt response,

IF it is obvious that TRV will be rejected, can we apply directly TRP. OR, is it a rule that one has to apply TRV first, if rejected, then go for TRP.

How much time this process takes for TRP or TRV.

You must first apply for a TRV. If it is rejected, you can then apply for a TRP.

She can only bring baby to Canada if the baby can get a TRV, or if that's rejected a TRP.

A PR must be residing in Canada to sponsor a spouse or child. They can't be living in another country. So either the mom or dad (if he's a PR) must return to Canada to submit the application, and remain resident in Canada during the entire processing time. You can leave only for temporary vacations.

Ayan,

I m looking solution for same issue. There are two options, one is get delivery in Canada, in this case, win win situation is there.
Option 2- one has to go long way, need to wait atleast a year to sponsor his her child. In this, during processing time, one of the person, either wife or husband hve to be in Canada. while other will remain in india with the new born. (As suggested above by CANADIANWOMAN)

Is there any requirement of fulfilment of residency obligation. As the same cant be fulfiled, I m still in India and only spent 7 days in Canada.

Yes. In order to sponsor, a PR must meet the RO or, for a new PR, be able to meet the RO.

Hi
I have applied for my daughter's citizenship certificate from India(New Delhi VISA office), 2 months over, still no respose or intimation. Any idea how to track or get status of the application.

Thanks for your help.
