Hi,

I have just had my work permit approved here in the UK, but we are not travelling to Canada until March. In the meantime, my baby son is due to be born in November. We'll be getting him a passport as soon as he's registered, but my question is do we need to tell anyone before we rock up at immigration?

He was obviously not included as a dependent on my IMM1295E. My wife is. Are they going to ask who this little man is, and simply saying that he wasn't born at the time will be enough?

Also, if he's not included on my IMM1295E, will he be entitled to Alberta healthcare (and everything else etc.) just as my wife and I are. I'm assuming he will be as he'll be committed to staying in Alberta for over 6 months of the year.

Pre-Assessed..
You should include him on your application. Otherwise, he's just a tourist, no health care and should leave after his 6 months are up.

Thanks Leon.

My permit has already been approved. So I assume it's just a case of contacting the embassy with his details and they should be able to add him to my case notes. As with for my wife (for whom we did not apply for a work permit), I assume then he will be granted a TRV for as long as my work permit is valid?
