hey
my husband just recieved his letter in the mail saying theyve started processing his applicaton in cairo which including the stickers with the number on it so we can now include new documents. we have a 2 month old baby who we would like to include in the application and im just woundering what new documents we need to submit, i know we should include a copy of herbirth certificate and passport but is there anything else im missing??
we also need to change his phone number, can this be dont by just simply writing it on a peice of paper explaining we need it changed?
and the last question on the website it gives instructions on how to email the changed informail and mail it by post but my husband basically lives beside the embassy so is it possible to just hand it in by person??
we would like to get this finished asap so any informaiton would be greatly appreciated :))
thanks

all they asked for when i notified them of my canadian born son (born the day after the application was submitted) was a copy of his birth certificate...

we had the option to mail (certified copy) in or hand deliver (original to be copied on the spot) to the Kingston Jamaica office... we hand delivered... they copied... they lost copy... we delivered again (but they told us to just dropoff the passport at that time to)... 4m in total processing in Kingston :)

congrats on the baby

ooh guys i had the same situation but didnt say any thing we thought there's no need to say about our new born baby{boy}
i the applicant signed my part of the application in june{at that time my wife was pregnant } but we sent our application 29oct
in my part there's no place 2 write my wife's pregnancy
and she also had the same in her part{form}
so we decided 2 include a latter from her doctor
the latter was explanation about her pregnancy,time she's expacting
and we sent our application without saying a word to any body
we thought there's no need 2 worry about the baby bcze he's already canadian
guys what do u think about ?

it is a change in your situation (growth in family... other children are mentioned on the application even tho they are citizens), so yes, it is a must to notify them... call the call centre or write a letter notifying CIC, or they will eventually request the birth certificate if you've mentioned the pregnacy... even if the baby is a citizen, they want proof of his/her birth for their records...

while it's not necessary to mention a pregnancy on the application itself before the baby is born, i think many feel it helps solidify the genunine-ness of the relationship and perhaps instill some urgency in the application (with the thoughts that a truly caring IO would not delay an application where a newborn was separate from bonding with their birth parents) not sure if that translates into reality but it really can't hurt an application to say that the couple is expecting... unless they truly don't believe the case, then they will call for DNA but that's not (from what i've heard) the norm... didn't happen to me, and whether or not my baby was a factor in our application being processed quickly i don't know, but the ave is 7-12 months for our office...., it sure didn't hurt!

I was in a similar situation. My son was born in the US, but to a Canadian father, so he is Canadian by descent. You do NOT have to pay any fee.

You notify your visa office the way you would of a change of address. Send a copy of the baby's birth certificate, with your bar code on it. If they need anything else, they'll ask for it.

Congrats on your new baby, and best wishes for a speedy process!
