Ok so now you can't do the medical upfront so you have to wait for immigration to do the medical which is ridiculous. In Korea there was about a 2-3 month waiting time to get the medical done in all approved hospitals except for one in northern Seoul.

I'm assuming some other countries have similar waiting times too.

The 12 month period is a scam because without an upfront medical you have too wait for a medical once your approved. My friends that applied were approved in about 11-12 months with upfront medicals.

Add 2-3 months now because upfront Medicaid are no longer accepted.

Waiting times for countries will increase especially in Europe and some Asian countries.

Yup we just did our medical and it was sent to the Manila VO and our Member of parliament contacted them after 2 weeks wondering why nothing has moved (eligability, criminality etc are all PASSED so we only wait on the medical after 12 months now) and they told us it takes up to 3 months just to RECEIVE the medicals even though its digitally uploaded via the panel physician and its already completed. I guess its just when a case officer feels like picking up your file and putting the last puzzle piece together.

I can't imagine what it will be like for EVERYONE to have to deal with this same delay.

Yeah it takes 2-3 months for an appointment in some countries and then 2-3 months for the case worker to look at it. Without upfront Medicals times won't decrease much and the government will move the blame to others to justify the long waits.

I can see it now they will say they are working hard but hospitals are over booked and holding the processing back.

Even the police check takes months in some countries too.

Every law / rule has advantages and disadvantages.
In my point of view following is the issue with up front Medical and Police Clearance

Validity of Medical (time line set by CIC is Nine Months)
Validity for Police Clearance (time line set by local Police Clearance certificate issuing office, typically its Six months)

Note: above said time lines are in India

Since its taking longer than a year in case of family class, most of them who have done up front medical are re doing medical and police clearance

Medical is costing around $200 per person
