Hello,
I had applied under FSW back in Jan 2007 under the old rules. In the acknowledgment letter, a time line of 48-60 months was mentioned.
Now, under the new rules (fast-track processing), I fall in one of the "preferred" 38 NOCs (NOC: 0213). Having read on this forum and the CIC website that one can send a new application without needing to withdraw the older application, I sent a new application on 6th Aug 2009 without withdrawing my old application.
Today, I received a post from the ND CHC and I was overjoyed thinking that I got the AOR pretty quickly. But when I opened it, I found that my application and the application fee DD was returned to me. The cover letter read:
"This refers to your application for PR in Canada under FSW. An ack letter has already been mailed to you earlier. The letter clearly advises you taht we will request supporting documents at a later date and if you send the documents, they will be returned to you.
Until we request your supporting documents, we will not accept, respond to or attach to your file any interim correspondence.
We are returning the document send by you to us. When our office is ready to assess your file, we will send you ta complete list of required documents. You will be given 4 months time to prepare and submit the supporting documents."
The letter-head has my old file number mentioned on top of it.
Does this mean that the CHC will not accept a new application while there is an old one in queue?
I am very disappointed. I was about to register for my IELTS exam as an anticipatory measure.
Please advise what should I do:
1. Should I send out a new application hoping that THIS time the CHC would accept a new application?
2. Should I first withdraw my old application and THEN send a new one?
3. Is there a way to update my old application with the details of my job change and thus now my NOC being 0213 (in the list of 38 NOCs), with the hopes that my old file would now be processed on a priority basis?
4. Does it mean that my old application might have opened for processing?
5. Any other option/advise?
Thanks a bunch.
