New Applicant for FSW 2014 Category 1

Dear All, greetings,

I wish to apply for Canada FSW program under Specialty Occupation category. I am from India with requisite experience and education.

Please advise:

1. Am I am late to apply now, or can I do it? When is the sub-quota cut off ?
2. How long does it take to get Education evaluated for Indian applicants?
3. I already have IELTS score with me.
4. Do I need to get medicals done before I can send my application.
5. If my application reaches Canada CIO after the cap is reached in my category, will they refuse or keep my application for next cycle.
6. What is Express Entry Jan 2015?

Response inline. I am not a seasoned member here. But can answer based on my experience.

1. Am I am late to apply now, or can I do it? When is the sub-quota cut off ?
[AVK] - Depends on which NOC code you are applying to. Need more experienced members to comment.

2. How long does it take to get Education evaluated for Indian applicants?
[AVK] I got mine done via WES. You need to get the treanscripts ready (2 weeks roughly) + WES processing time (21 days. Count 30) + Courier transit time (8 working days).

3. I already have IELTS score with me.
[AVK] What is your IELTS score.

4. Do I need to get medicals done before I can send my application.
[AVK] - Not required.

5. If my application reaches Canada CIO after the cap is reached in my category, will they refuse or keep my application for next cycle.
[AVK] - Not sure, but dont think they will keep it for next cycle. You might have to reapply again. They will return the DD or processing fee if the application is rejected because of cap.

6. What is Express Entry Jan 2015?
[AVK] Cant answer this comprehensively. You can google or read other posts for reply.

I am B.Com. from India and have 5 years of work exp with 1 year international experience.

IELTS score is : L-8, R-6.5, S-7.5, W-7.5

Based on this score, how much points can I get?

For WES evaluation, do I need transcripts (all semester marks in 1 single sheet) or Marksheets to be sent to them?

Please advise .

Since ur a bcom u would get 21 point for education,
is ur Ielts general or academic.....requirement is general and as per ur score u will get 23 points

For WES u will need all the individual transcript , provisional or degree enclosed in a sealed envelope

IELTS was General.

I have 3 marksheet (1 for each year), Original Degree and Transcript.

The transcript is 1 sheet only that contains all the marks for all the 3 years. I have this in a sealed envelop. will this work??

Otherwise, I will need to make photocopies of the 3 marksheets and get it signed and sealed at the University , which is a lengthy process.

Also, for Birth Certificate in India, can I submit affidavit or school certificate?

Is ur Ielts General still valid?
U will have to submit 3 marsheet transcript , degree photo copy , and the final transcript which we call it as CMM (consolidated marks memo)

If u get photo copies attested then u will have to fill out WES academic form , on which u will require college attestation..which will be lenghty and headache process...

Yes u can submit School certificate which should have ur DOB , Ur Name , Parents Name...if u find anything missing please have a affadavit made from ur parents.

Is there a format for Birth Certificate Affidavit, or any generic one is fine?

As I understand from you, the affidavit should be made by parents. is that correct?

I am still not clear about the transcript though. My 3rd year marksheet is a consolidate one.

I got transcripts issued from the University to apply for higher education in US/Canada. And they are normally needed in a sealed envelop.

Therefore, I was thinking if this 1 sheet transcript along with Degree photocopy will work for WES.

So ur good with Ielts

Just a generic affadavit stating he is my son , born , place , etc...

Yes it should be made by parents

For three years u will get 3 mark sheet(ie 1st yr,2nd yr, 3rd yr) and a final one which includes all the three in the same sheet ie consolidated.
They would require you to submit individual along with consolidated and degree.
In worst case if you dont have individual then submit consolidated and degree,but cannot guarantee if they will accept.

Just one last thing, I am currently not working as I have been traveling out of India for the last 6 month.

Do I have to be working in order to apply under this category?
