True, can go anywhere in Canada except Quebec, as Quebec has their own criteria. But once u get PR card u can go Quebec too. My recommendation for u guys is don,t go with what other says , do research for ur field of your expertise, Alberta may be better for one and Toronto maybe better for other or Vancouver. Like if u r teacher, Alberta is best place to go , if u r nurse Toronto is better choice as its little easy to upgrade in Toronto. If ur in hotel management vanc will be better. For IT Alberta is better. JUST MY OPINION.

Not sure about the fair , but normally (Qatar airways+ Air canada) ---> Ktm>>Doha>> London>> Alberta (either edmonton or Calgary )
or (Dragon air + Cathy pacific) >>> Ktm>>Hongkong>> Vancouver>> Alberta

Ppls have started using Chinese route, i think it's cheaper >>> ktm >> china>> Vancouver>> alberta

about the dates i don't think it matters either beginning of the month or mid , as you are moving for new settlement
