we need to take atleast 20,000 from NEpal. How do we do it. We are landing in Toronto july-aug.

Normally USD 2500 is allowed . For immigrant Visa extra USD 5000 is allowed. Which is total USD 7500. But the only question is POF is CAD11931 for one person and which is higher than USD 7500. So share your thoughts and experience.

I am also planning to go during July....but still waiting for 2nd line update and MR from WVO. I will be going to Regina, SK first.

Hi,
You can show whatever you want. Any money you bring at first time is tax exempt. But its up to you. If you bring more then 10 thousand then you will have a chance to write in a form. That's it. If you bring less then no worries.

By the way, can you give me your Nepal's phone number? My parents are coming to Edmonton and it will be good if they can come with you.

Thank you.

The CIC rule say we can take upto CAD 10000 without any proof of source. Above that we will need to show proof of source of that extra amount. So i think it is better we take maximum CAD 10000 during first landing.

BTW, I am also planning for July. But no relatives or friends in toronto. So I am looking for friends from here to share together.

Best of Luck :)

You should take CAD 10000 only. You need to prepare a list of goods checklist for things you are taking to canada. I think CIC website has some formats or templates. You can google it.

Is anyone looking to send money from Nepal to Canada? I am a Nepalese citizen currently on vacation.
