Need Urgent Help. Work Permit is Expiring soon, what to do next?

Hi all,

Actually, my work permit is expiring in 20 days. I have 438 points and have already applied for OINP on 11th January 2016 ,but still didn't get any reply. Can anybody suggest me , what to do at this stage?

Hi there:

Few things you can do.

1. Apply for work permit extension.

2. If you can't apply for work permit extension, then stop working after 20 days - apply for a visitor's visa (if applicable). Then you just have to wait until ONIP approves and then update your EE profile. Get an ITA, and apply for PR.

3. Unfortunately, if you can't apply for any of 1 or 2, then you would have to return home and then wait until ONIP approves and then update your EE profile. Get an ITA, and apply for PR.

Hi there, thanks for your prompt reply. I am thinking to apply for work permit. But I have couple of questions:

1) How can I apply for work permit extension? Am I eligible to apply for work permit extension as I have only 20 days?
2) Can I also apply for Study permit?
3) In case, If I am on implied status , am I eligible to apply for study permit extension and buy some time?

3) In case, If I am on implied status , am I eligible to apply for study permit extension and buy some time? On implied status you can continue to do whatever you are doing right now. For ex. if you have WP then you can continue doing that but if you want to study then you have to apply for study permit separately.
